I built a pretty great PC this past fall, so I can play just about anything on max graphics and everything right now. I tend to prefer playing RPGs/strategy games on the computer, and sports games/some adventure games on console.
Well,
The Witcher 3 is an adventure RPG so it's in both categories I guess, it'll be on both platforms so take your pick. Looks like it's going to be fantastic and it's out next month so if you've still not played the second game (first can be skipped and you're fine) I'd pick it up.
If you do end up liking Dark Souls the remastered version of
Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin is on Xbone and PC and is definitely worth playing. Also falls into that action RPG genre so I guess you could get it on either. If it weighs the choice, I play it on PC, we could play.

I've been right into
Pillars of Eternity (PC only) recently. It's an isometric RPG by Obsidian that released last month, the writing style is brilliant and I've been having a blast getting to know the world and stuff. I've been recommending it to anyone who'll listen since I got hooked.
I've yet to play it but from what I've heard from friends,
Ori and the Blind Forest is really good. It's a gorgeous looking Metroidvania game with more of a focus on platforming. I hear it brings the feels.
Speaking of charming platformers, this one's a little older but if you never played
Rayman Legends that game is a load of fun. It's got a really pleasing art style and a bucket load of interesting levels. That game was a great one for me to hop on and relax, always put me in a good mood.
The two Metro survival horror games got a much needed and very well done remaster last year under the name
Metro Redux. They're very atmospheric and have a great balance of combat and stealth with an interesting apocalyptic Russian setting.
