Check your facts (again).
Cam Newton in Primetime Games (7 games):
61%, 1,539 passing yards, 9 passing TDs, 4 INTs (not so bad when you consider 3 came in 1 game, his first primetime game in 2012 against the previous years Super Bowl Champions), 89.4 QB Rating, 268 rushing yards, 5 rushing TDs
In 4 of the 7 games he finished with a QB Rating of 98 or higher and has 3 Primetime games with 3 or more TDs.
Cam Newton on MNF is 2-0, including a victory over the New England Patriots, and he recorded a 125 QB Rating in both games with 5 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns, 0 turnovers.
But Cam Newton has ALWAYS been complete ass on Primetime. Right.
Messiah wrote:Stop backtracking. You said Cam Newton had never played well on Primetime - as a matter of fact, you said he was always complete ass in those situations.
And if you choose to believe Ron Rivera, then more power to you. He is not going to come outright and say Cam Newton is injured. Rivera wants to believe Newton is healthy though and in a condition to complete a turnaround to save the season because that is the only chance he has at keeping his job.
Anyone who has seen Newton play this year knows he is hurt, all of Carolina's beat writers have reported he is hurt, Cam Newton himself as said in press conferences that he is still not 100% (player speak for saying they are hurt). He limps to the sidelines and bends over on one knee like he was just shot every game, his throwing hand is wrapped up, his wrist was knicked up last week, two bum ankles (he can't even run away from lineman), and ribs that are still bothering him (from the mouth of the man himself, Newton). He's injured. That isn't making an excuse for him. He hasn't played well. But he is not in a position to succeed and deep down, you know that.
