A fair assessment?

If I was Lerner, I'd be conducting discreet work on Lambert's replacement. Identify potential names now because it might be that if Villa suffer more bad results that he might be gone at the end of the season. TBF, he has done a reliable job with the cost-cutting measures that Lerner has under-taken but his signings, for the majority of them, have been poor. For one good signing (Benteke), there have been a shit load of poor ones.

If Villa want to play a counter-attacking style then he needs more pace on the wings. Weimann has disappeared after a promising start. Guzan, Vlaar, Delph, Benteke. These four are the spine but need to build a team around them.

Villa should get Moyes.

Proven record of getting average teams to seventh place, although Villa should probably aim higher than that.

Had we dug in and kept that lead to longer than a minute then who knows? Goal affected us and Bayern upped the tempo in the last third.

Our game plan worked until their equaliser, it was a similiar match to OT but Bayern were kept at bay pretty comfortably. I can't remember DDG making a save in the first half. Evra's goal was a beauty but he didn't cover himself in glory with their goals either.

Rooney didn't seem fit and wasted a chance in the first half trying to score when he had Kagawa free to his left.

Now, we'll look back at this game nostalgically as we won't be in the CL next season.

So Villa's shitty defender Joe Bennett tried to get a Q&A going on Twitter. It got hijacked by tweets such as...

@Teago_AVFC hi joe how do you feel about being called a pro footballer when you have the ability of Johnny Vegas after 10pints #askbennett

@gunsforhire76 Do you think your 1 good performance vs Chelsea in nearly 2 seasons at the club means your in the same league as J Lloyd Samuel? #askbennett

@gunsforhire76 If Gabby is running at you with the ball do you bother to try and tackle him or wait till he runs it out of play and falls over? #askbennett

@DEANOFIELD Do you get angry with fans getting your name wrong during the game. I often hear Gordon Bennett after you have touched the ball #askbennett

:lol

I saw this earlier. The Gordon Bennett one amused me greatly.

Twitter Q&A's are always gold when it comes hijackings. Always a good chuckle.

So we have Real vs Bayern and Atleti vs Chelsea. I am predicting Chelsea vs Bayern in a rematch, although I am hoping for an all Madrid final.

Me too. Real vs. Atletico would be immense. I'd want Real to win because of Ronaldo and due to my managerial crush on Ancelotti, brilliant coach and bloke.

Looking forward to the Mourinho vs. Simeone battle.

Also @prophet, typical of your boys to grab a draw last night, looks like Rotherham's automatic hopes rest on results today if the others drop points.

We did alright to be fair, stuck to our plan and defended well against a superior team. We even had more than enough chances to score and so could've easily won the game in the end. Playing 4-5-1 cost us though, Jon Stead had no help up front, happy with a point though. Steve Evans is still a horrible fat twat too.

Ok I was informed that everyone hates Arsenal, and as I haven't really closely followed them too much I was told it's ok if I pick a different team. So I'm now the Pub's foremost Everton expert and diehard. I still like Arsenal though.

LIterally all I know about Everton at this point is that they have Tim Howard. So I guess I'd best get to learnin.

Judas. You pick a team, you stick with them for life. Through the thick and thin.

I'm a little disappointed in you right now.

To be fair, I had watched one full game ever :lol

I still like Arsenal too. And I'll probably continue to watch almost no soccer, but who knows.
