I honestly don't think writing has a whole lot to do with it because their sales would blow world wide if it was the overall product. So what is it? Advertising? Bigger drawing stars? Gimmick matches? Why do us muricans refuse to buy TNA tickets?

I didn't watch all of the PPV but what I have seen was laughable, I never knew TNA was this bad and honestly after some of the stuff I saw it's unsurprising they can't sell tickets.
First and foremost they had a gigantic hole in the side of the ring. Larger than the standard camera hole, this thing was stupidly big because Samuel Shaw used it to pull Christy Hemme through - surely there could've been another way to get Hemme in the ring with Shaw?! Why didn't anyone (in any of the cage matches) simply climb out of the hole and win the match? Horrible logic. That doesn't even come close to winning the 'stupidest booking of the night' award though. How on earth did Earl Hebner somehow not manage to see Mr Kennedy walking around on the outside of the ring?! Didn't Kennedy take the key from Hebner in the first place?! It literally made no sense to me.
I was really looking forward to seeing Magnus vs Samoa Joe because Joe was always a favourite of mine years ago when I was a big TNA fan and I was looking forward to seeing my countryman as World Champion. It was No-DQ match, right? Why then, did Joe release a submission due to ropebreak during the match?! I thought it was No DQ?!?! I didn't like how they had a 'mysterious figure' pull Joe under the ring only for Joe to re-emerge a minute later - if you're going to end the match like that don't have Joe come back from it a second later. As for Abyss - meh, whatever, way to continue burying your Champion, TNA.
The Lethal Lockdown match made for lethargic viewing. It wasn't excited at the beginning seeing a couple of different handicap matches although it did pick up later on. Finally got to see The Wolves wrestle for the first time and I really enjoyed them and the Willow reveal was something I was really interested to see (really struggled to take the Willow character seriously). We all knew that 'Willow was coming' and I didn't know whether they were going to acknowledge that he was Jeff Hardy or not but Willow's theme was a Jeff Hardy songHe also looked exactly like Hardy with a mask on - so it's a meh on Willow but I'll give him time before I made a judgment. Not sure what to make of the ending either, haven't been following the show so yeah - MVP is owner now.
Oh and Bobby Lashley was there too
So yeah, a resounding mehhh from me. I'm sorry about the rant lmao, I don't even know how that happened

Why change their name? Because even if they were to improve, their reputation is such in the shitter after all these years that the fans probably still wouldn't buy into it.

For you to say it sucks and then admit to not watching it enough to fully understand what's going on is a bit one sided. The hole in the cage - They have always had large holes to be able to film the cage matches without a close up of chain link fencing in every shot like WWE cage matches have. I admit that it does seem silly as to why people don't just escape from the holes and why shaw is the first person to take advantage of it I don't know, but their cage has always been like that.
For Joe and the hole, Joe emerged from the hole instead of ending the match like that because Joe has been booked as a total bad ass lately and him emerging from the hole fighting just added to that bad ass booking.
MVP is not the owner. Storyline is that he (combined with other financial backers) acquired %50 of TNA shares, dixie and MVP have been fuedind over who is best to control wrestling operations. MVP wanted full control of wrestling and for Dixie to be the office bitch. Well, Dixie is now the office bitch.
Over all I have heard very little complaints about the ppv besides the attendance and abyss' role besides the complaints from people with criticism about something they don't follow or even know enough about to criticize.
Now,
I would say that they need to get back to what put them on the map, being different from wwe but still offer the same product. X-division, kick ass tag teams, insane woman's division, six sided ring and phenomenal matches. And they need to be consistent about this, not 3 month of awesome tag matches and then dissolve the teams

When you say you've heard little complaints about the PPV where does that come from? People you know? Because a few reviews of the show I've read seem to agree with me that Lockdown had quite a few major (hilarious) plotholes. That giant hole in the cage wasn't a camera sized-hole. I've seen camera sized holes before in both WWE and TNA and the one I saw at Lockdown wasn't one - it was instead a laughably over-sized hole put there simply for the purpose of having Shaw pull Christy through and as a result it cheapened the show.
I'll concede that Joe re-emerging from the hole in the ring made him look like a badass but again they've made Magnus (the actual champion) look like a complete bitch yet again. So yeah I'll give you that one but not the stupidly big hole in the cage.
