How would you retire the Undertaker with a storyline?

Postby Everlong » Oct 31, '15, 8:07 am

Simple question that's been asked numerous times, but he's still around, so the situation is different now. How would you do it?

Nice Halloween wrestling question!

Simple. A buried alive match against an up and coming heel.

The Undertaker is one of the only wrestlers whose career should realistically end with supernatural murder, so to put the nail in the coffin I'd book him to burst out the dirt only to have 'demons' tear him to hell. Ever seen Jason Goes to Hell? I'd essentially book it like the ending to that film.

Let Bray Wyatt carry his soul to hell for all eternity.

I actually think they've got an opportunity to do it in a fashion that could be damn well close to perfect here. The Wyatt Family are the perfect heels to tangle with Undertaker and put the final nail in his coffin. You could either do it at Survivor Series with the Wyatts winning and then using some theatrics to make Taker disappear or have this match lead to a Bray vs Taker showdown somewhere down the line in a casket match where the same formula is followed.

I actually had something similar to this. Have an up and coming heel beat him clean in a casket match at Wrestlemania. Then have the heel drag the casket to an open grave. Then have as many former Undertaker wrestlemania competitors as possible come out and drop dirt on the grave. One by one they bury the casket and finally the Undertaker can Rest In Peace. The last person to add dirt should be Kane and once the the grave is buried, I would have a lighting strike and Paul Bearer saying " Ohhhhhh Yesssss!!!!"

If they go for any of the suggestions outlined above, but execute them in an open air stadium, during full daylight hours, it's going to kill the mood so hard.

Hope they don't make that mistake again.

It's worth pointing out that this year's Mania is in Dallas, which is a closed roof stadium.

Would it have anything to do with a dangling steel barred dome, a creepy bruising power wrestler and a punkass kid?

It might. :P

After all the years of mind games and creeping out his opponents, I think having Undertaker show some kind of fear during his last ever match would be the best way possible to put over the person he's facing. To have someone finally see past Undertaker's invincible exterior and humanise him, on path to a huge victory, would put that wrestler on the map in a huge way.

It'd also be a fitting end to Undertaker's run in the company, which would allow him to transition to doing interviews and things with the company if the opportunity arose, now that his wrestling career was over.
