I'm a fan of the old PS1 Resident Evil games. I grew up with them, and they were among my favourites. And I absolutely loved REmake. It's arguably my favourite game ever. It's certainly my favourite survival horror game. So if they can recreate that atmosphere in the remake of RE2 then I'll be fucking ecstatic.
It's hard to say this early what it'll be like though. Will they keep the fixed camera and tank controls? I'm in the camp that would much prefer that. If they go for RE4 style, I think it'll make it less scary and atmospheric. If they add more guns/zombies/action it will DEFINITELY hurt the scare factor.
No matter what, I reckon they will try to put a heavy emphasis on the horror for the game, at least more so than the recent horrible action games they've brought out. So either way, this is the best chance we have of getting a genuine survival horror game out of the company right now. Which is good news.
I'm excited about this overall. I just hope that they do something similar to REmake. I'd like to see most of the controls remaining the same. Just update the graphics and the voice acting, and change some areas of the map and add some extra enemies and events to make parts of it seem fresh (REmake did that really well). That game would be fucking great.

Though the story got a bit convoluted towards the end. I've never owned a PS2, so I haven't had the chance to play the second Silent Hill (which most people say is the best), but I'll try and get around to it soon.

I forgot to mention it earlier in my last post, but I think it's really important that they keep the inventory system and the ink ribbon saving. They add so much to the strategy and horror of the games.
