Daniel Bryan Relinquishes the IC Title

Bryan cut a promo on Raw saying he has no idea how long he'll be out, and gave up the championship. Said it deserves to be defended and means to much to be left sat on a chair in doctors office.

Classy stuff.

What do you reckon they'll do with the championship now, tournament? Retire it? Maybe unify it with the US belt?

I feel like they won't do a tournament so close to the King of the Ring they just had.

One idea if they want to keep up the importance. They just announced Elimination Chamber returns on May 31, why not have a Chamber match to decide the new IC Champ? That would be cool I think.

Also, sad to see Bryan have to do this again. That whole segment felt like a retirement speech, even if it isn't official. The whole vibe was sad and I feel like the doctors must not be very optimistic about his chances of returning to the ring.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I haven't watched SmackDown in over a year) but if Bryan doesn't wrestle again I believe that this was his final match:



Great hot tag but you can tell from the small amount of time that Bryan was in the ring and the lengthy kicking bit that he's working hurt. If this was his last match, I'm happy that it's against Cesaro and Kidd despite not being anywhere near as good as every other time he faced off against those two.

Neck injuries are serious shit. I get that Bryan's a warrior and wants to wrestle whenever he can, but they shouldn't have brought him back so soon.
