I think this shows that AJ knows she won't be around for much longer, though if she does plan on sticking around then I respect this stand even more. Obviously the way WWE is set up, the women are never going to be the very biggest stars in the company and that's sadly just the way it is. No female will ever be among the top earners at any time in the near future. But there's no reason why they shouldn't be paid as much as the midcard guys.

There was a point where I can guarantee that AJ Lee was more of a draw than most of the male roster. And Vince McMahon knew it too, which was why he gave her so many segments every night. So if she wasn't getting paid as much as the lower tier male performers then she has every reason to be pissed off.

But in all seriousness, she has a point. She also has huge balls to even attempt to publicly do this, but I guess she really doesn't give a fuck because her spot is pretty safe. She won't be fired during this whole Punk lawsuit thing because the optics would be terrible for WWE. Not to mention if she did the fans would revolt with Punk chants again probably.

This could totally be a work too though, I mean come on, Steph vs AJ is the money woman's match they have. And I read AJ is poised to return soon.

She doesn't have much of a point. It's true that they aren't giving them an equal shot but we know why they don't get an equal shot. It's just not as profitable as the men's wrestling. Good on her though for at least making them aware of the fact they deserve better, they do indeed deserve better.

If it's not a work, then AJ has some huge balls. I remember hearing some pretty crazy stories about how absurdly bad the TNA knockouts were treated financially. I wonder what the disparity is like for the divas? They definitely deserve more of a chance than what they've been getting over the past decade. Ever since Trish and Lita left, WWE have barely even tried with them.

I have to question AJ's assertion that the Divas have been in the highest rated segments and have top selling merchandise though. I highly doubt they have top rated segments, maybe AJ's segments during her run as GM with Punk/Cena etc. but how much of that was them? AJ is the only one I could see selling merch at that level too.

Not saying she doesn't have a valid point with her criticism, but I wanna see some statistics

In a 3 hour show, there's no reason to not give the Divas legit time and storylines, rather than with Total Divas BS.

On the other hand, some of the Divas they have currently on the roster have no business in a wrestling ring. So they need to fix that problem first.

If AJ is staying then I can forsee WWE "cashing" in on these hashtag and create an angle, where - potentially - AJ Lee becomes the CM Punk 2011, where he does some sort of "shoot" promo basically on the themes she has tweeted about.

Regarding AJ's merchandise claims, she was a strong merchandise seller when she was being pushed but the formula WWE uses for merchandise sales with most of the roster is the same with a few top stars getting higher percentages. None of the Divas sell anywhere close to the levels that top WWE Superstars are at.

As far as Divas being in the highest-rated segments on WWE TV, the Diva segments were rarely above average when weekly segment breakdowns were available. However, AJ was working main event segments with top stars such as Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, and those segments always did well.

Regarding pay, while there are exceptions, it is a general rule in WWE that the Divas on the main roster are paid significantly less than the men. Apparently that is not the case in NXT as there's a general rule that the Divas there make more than the men because so many of the men came from indie backgrounds and are willing to take low pay just to be a part of WWE. Most of the women hired come from modeling or athletic backgrounds and there's also the idea that the women need to earn at a certain level to maintain the kind of look WWE wants.

A source close to the situation with AJ said she did it completely on her own and the company was completely blind-sided by it. Stephanie was said to be absolutely furious at being made to look bad by one of their employees and at being shown up on Twitter. Vince McMahon, seeing the bigger picture, reportedly instructed Stephanie to reply with the tweet that she sent, thanking AJ for her opinion.

Women can work less matches and travel less but deserve to be paid the same amount to maintain an image. The key flaw in today's approach to "feminism", I hate being right lol. You can't have wmynz rasslers being paid less on NXT because of "muh image" lol. What a fucked up, politically correct world we live in.

Divas certainly deserve better on the main roster though.
