Samoa Joe is leaving TNA

Postby Everlong » Feb 17, '15, 4:37 pm

Seems to me that it's about time. From everything I've heard, Joe basically gave up long ago, and has been mailing it in for years.

Wonder if he's retiring or if he'll go back to ROH?

I remember when I first started watching TNA, Joe was the guy I thought would be the one to watch.

TNAs still going?

Anyway, back when I was still watching TNA, Joe was involved in some of their best matches.

Seems a shame, but some of his matches over the past year or so have been nothing but sloppy. I'm not sure if that's down to him or TNA but I think this has been a long time coming, time for a change of scenery. All the best to him with what ever he decides to do next.

Such an odd wrestler. When he actually gave a fuck he put on a hell of a match and was the best guy in TNA for a little bit. The guy just started to go through the motions in the ring and sucked. Weird how his matches are either great or terrible.

I have to believe that he'll be back in ROH pretty soon. I'm sure they'll be excited to have him back.

He'll do just find on the indies, and maybe in Japan.

I wonder if going back to ROH would put the fire back in him? He seems to have totally lost the passion for the business.

No use for him in the dubya E that's for sure. I haven't watched Lucha Underground but could he go there?

I'm not sure if he is trying to get out of wrestling and into something else or what. If he's staying in wrestling I have to believe he'll pick it up in ROH because wrestlers there are held to a pretty high standard and they'll expect a lot of him.

I could see him going there. I'm not sure if Konnan and him have a relationship at all but I feel like they do for some reason.

He'll most likely go to NJPW and join Bullet with AJ

That group is getting big enough as it is. I'd like to see him pretend to join, then say screw this and attack the Bullet Club. It would be more interesting that adding another foreign member.

I like that idea. Don't want anyone else in that group tbh.

I'm not really surprised. TNA isn't doing all that great at the moment and Joe has looked completely unmotivated for years now. He really doesn't seem to like what he does. I imagine he'll try wrestling somewhere else, but I wonder if it'd be better if he just found another line of work. It's funny: while he was a potentially huge star on the rise a decade ago, I don't think anybody cares about him now. His career just didn't pan out the way it was supposed to, and every time he was booked badly, he took it out on his own performances.

I think that's the real sign of a bad attitude in wrestling. Lots of guys weren't booked to their fullest potential in TNA (and in WWE) over the last 10 years, but the best performers stay putting in good performances regardless. Which is why Styles became TNA's go to guy whenever the old-timers let them down. Joe didn't keep himself over enough when he started to move down the card.

It's kinda sad when you think of what high hopes people had for him. A big feud with angle, a single TNA title reign, and that's basically all he's accomplished since 2006. Pretty rough stuff.

No shit, he gave up a long time ago and should have found a way to reinvigorate his drive. Joe had the chance to be a new hybrid style wrestler, think Taz meets Umaga, a very technical heavyweight with unmatched aggression. If he would have pushed threw his lows he could have achieved great highs, but now i doubt anyone will express any real interest in him

Such a shame the way he turned out. That match vs Styles and Daniels will always be remembered.
