I'd love to be able to have the site moved over to a new domain in the week after Fastlane, so that we can really amp up the promotion of the site heading into WrestleMania.

That being said, I have chosen five of my favorite suggestions offered so far and placed them into a poll. You guys have a chance to vote on what our new name will be.

In addition to voting, it'd be great if people would post their thoughts about why they chose what they did. Let's get as many people involved as possible.

All of the names are open for purchase, but you will notice that two are .net extensions rather than .com. After some research, it would seem that .net wouldn't be much of a hindrance in terms of SEO so long as we promote the site properly, which will be our focus. Keep that in mind when voting.

I voted for squaredcircle.net

In addition to thinking that name just sounded better I feel like out of the options given it's better for those that didn't necessarily want this place to revolve around wrestling like the old site did.

That's not to say I feel that way, I don't and I think this is absolutely a giant step forward in attracting members to the forum but something I will admit doing is scrolling down trying to hide the old 'WWE-Club' banner whenever certain people would enter the room to spare myself the grief of having to defend why I'm still such a big wrestling fan. 'Squared Circle' is vague enough to avoid that potential issue yet specific enough to relate to our new focus.

The only one on that list that I don't like is InternetWrestlingClub.com - that would suck, so please don't vote for that

Yeah, I think squaredcircle is my top preference as well, for the reasons you mentioned and the fact that it doesn't sound as "forced" as some of the others. Backstagewrestling is probably my second favorite, I believe that was a Locke suggestion.

Alright, I don't really have a preference among the three I voted for so I suppose all there is to explain is why I'm not a fan of the others.

Smart Wrestling just doesn't sit right with me. It seems too similar to the whole concept of "Smart Marks" or whatever which imo is kinda douchey.

Internet Wrestling Club I'm not as opposed to as Smart Wrestling but I still don't favour it was much as the other three, the internet part seems kinda redundant though I do understand it's there so we'd be IWC, I'm not feeling it.

To me, choosing more than one kind of defeats the purpose of this thread. We've already had a thread where we discussed a wide range of names, surely this is the thread to choose a single name?

I chose squaredcircle.net as I like how it can refer to a range a sports other than just wrestling.

Yeah, which is why I'd prefer people to comment and say which one they've chosen. Offering a couple choices means that we can get an idea of which ones have the most overall approval, and then commenting with a top choice adds an additional level of insight.

I voted for smartwrestling and wrestlingcircle, with my preference being smartwrestling, but any are fine with me. Also, will you be setting up a re-direct if people type in pubtalk for a little while or will it just one day you have to know the new address to go to?

Pubtalk will redirect to the new site until the domain runs out, at which point I will not renew the domain.

But, I will also be posting announcements on this site about what the new domain name will be and when people can expect it to happen.

When I do make the domain switch, there might be some posts that do not make it over in the switch, depending on how many people post after I download the site's database. But I will be letting people know when to expect the switch to happen as well.

Squaredcircle is my favourite name there. So I'd like that to be the name of the site. BUT if that one is going to get us less traffic than all of the others, that kinda defeats the purpose of what we're trying to do here.

Backstage wrestling sounds kinda like an innuendo.

I'm voting InternetWrestlingClub, but I'm happy with the other two also. I'd also be happy with Squaredcircle, but if we're definitely less likely to get hits if we don't have wrestling in the title, then wrestling should be in the title.

^^ I never thought about that, but it is a legitimate concern. I'd feel a little more wary about taking on that name with that considered.

Squared Circle for me. Rest just read a tad too cheesy. Smart Wrestling my second choice - to incorporate wrestling to aid traffic.
