Courtois or De Gea?

Postby PorkChop » Jan 31, '15, 12:17 pm

Both guys can stake a claim for the best keeper in the Premier League right now, but who would you prefer between the sticks for your team?

I'd choose Courtois, because he doesn't have a bumfluff beard.

I'd go with Courtois.

Solid justification bro :clap

But I'm going to be be biased. I think Courtois, atm, has that aura of not being able to make a mistake but De Gea has made outstanding improvements. To the point where United fans would rather keep him than swap him for "ballhog" Bale. De Gea's improvement, especially in 1 v 1 situations, seems to have come working with Frans Hoek.

Courtois is easily the better keeper, not even close for me.

Both men are young and are going to get better but Courtois is more experienced plus he's bigger, stronger and more vocal than De Gea. I actually really like De Gea though, it's lovely to see a player who was criticized so heavily at first prove a lot of people wrong - he's a top shot-stopper and has saved United numerous points this season. He's not better than Courtois though, sorry Aky.

If I was a centreback i'd much prefer to have Courtois behind me, De Gea is a great shotstopper when the shots pretty much right in front of him but as MK dons proved... shoot away from him and you'll score, Courtois seems more confident more willing to go through players to make the ball his like a goalkeeper should.
