Why is nobody saying anything on these threads? :/

Apparently I'm the only person to vote Daniel Day-Lewis, which I find surprising. Washington has been past his prime for quite a while now and tends to play iterations of the same character over and over in most of his movies. Day-Lewis is probably one of the two or three best actors currently active. Fairly easy choice for me.

I think the thing is that the normal movie go-er prefers Denzel over DDL because DDL tends to be a bit boring. I think Denzel plays characters that don't have as much depth as some of DDL characters but Denzel's movies are more digestible IMO.

I think DDL is a great actor but I personally just find him on the boring side and I don't have a desire to watch any of his movies over again. It's just sometimes his characters can just drain you.

This is a close one for me, but mainly as I'm not too fussed about either guy.

I'm voting DDL, mainly for Gangs of New York which is an awesome film. I haven't seen Lincoln though, which is supposed to be one of his best. As for Denzel, I like him - but I think there's better actors than him who aren't in this tournament.
