I wouldn't agree with Sky. Sky are really anti competition when it comes to contracting sporting events and entertainment. It's only been recently that BT Sport has been able to make a dent in their total monopoly of everything sporting related in the country. Or atleast Football and Rugby related.

Why the hell would you want to agree with Sky holding exclusivity over everything, when competition (in theory) would benefit us as consumers. Imagine if Virgin, BT and Sky all had to compete to get your hard earned money for the sports you like to watch.

Agree with their POV in terms of flagging this up and trying to fight for the money they've paid for the WWE broadcasting, wasn't agreeing with their domination of the market..

BT have only been in play for a season in relation to PL league rights, still a long way to go before they can be classed as a real, long-term challenge to Sky but nabbing the CL rights is another positive but as a BT customer, won't be long before they hike up prices for line rental but expected.

No, I know. I was just following the thread through and talking about why they have such a claim. It's bullshit.

Twister wrote:Oh and Sky suck. I flat out refuse to pay their ridiculous prices for their TV packages, it's the reason why I haven't watched wwe on a regular basis for going on 10 years now.

Exactly.

VM and BT have better quality products in some aspects. Cable is much more stable than satellite TV. Plus, BT and Virgin offer better internet packages. Sky are still in 2001 with their ADSL lines charging people 20 quid a month. I pay a little more for almost 10 times the speed with VM.Sky have been untouched for so long that now they can charge what they want, block what they want, screw over the other two companies and punish consumers for not signing up with them and their extortionate rates.

We have VM and I ordered Summerslam assuming it would be in HD. Cos, you know, it's 2014. Why wouldn't it be in HD? But it wasn't. Sky don't allow VM customers to use their HD feeds just the SD ones. Now if they didn't have exclusive rights to WWE PPV in the UK, I wouldn't have been burned 15 quid. I could barely watch it on my big screen, looked like an illegal stream.

It's probably not the end of the WWE in the UK. Customers are fickle. When/if it launches, they'll prolly get some people jumping on to it. What'll be more interesting is if they start to edit out the chants they'll get in freaking Liverpool next week.

Why would you pull the Network then go to Liverpool. It's as bad as going to NYC or Chicago.

Fuck waiting for the UK version. There is a way to get the US version. My mate already has it and I am in the process of getting it myself.

Yeah I've heard there's a way of getting it over here. I thought about doing it but tbh I just can't be bothered now.

If it gets released over here properly within my lifetime then I may consider signing up, mainly because of the back catalogue of content, plus the fact that I'm fickle and have no shame.

WWE will edit out any chants that happen on their overseas tour in stuff that airs on TV, and will remove anti-network signs, almost assuredly.

The only hope is WWE can't figure out what the crowd is saying because of the accents that they just leave it in.

What I did. Will use the November free trial then I'll probably cancel before December so they don't get my money.

But if Sky pays for that exclusivity they deserve it then. Each of those companies could have done the same thing, but they didn't.

So Sheamus vs Rusev for the US title has been announced as a network exclusive, airing right after Raw.

An Irishman is defending his championship, and Ireland is one of the only countries in the modern world that won't get to see it.

I wish I could say, "you couldn't write this stuff", but somehow WWE did.

It's pretty bad, but speaking as an Irishman myself, I doubt there are many of us who'd be willing to stay up later than 4am on a Monday to watch a midcard WWE match, given the wretched form they're in lately. So it's probably not going to have a big effect on people.

Yeah no shit, they'll drive it into the ground like they do any fresh match-up. It's just they have the gall to announce a network exclusive championship match featuring a guy who's fellow countrymen can't even watch (whether people currently give a shit about sheamus or not), mere hours after pulling the plug on said countries network launch.

It's either a purposeful slap in the face, or simply imbecilic.

@Daz

Is one of the T&C's for the free month that you have to pay for December?

Also what VPN are you using? I tried Hola there but it keeps reverting me back to the UK website. Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

I don't believe so.

Hola worked fine for me on Chrome last night but I have heard people have been having trouble with it. Might be worth paying the extra few quid for Unblockus or something along those lines.
