TWISTER!
Following on from her 'friendliest member' accolade at the 2014 PubTalkForum Awards, Twister has been voted Member of the Month for November! I sat down with her for a quick chat!
1. Nat! Congrats on being named Member of the Month for November! How do you feel?
Wahey! Pretty awesome to be fair. I've been waiting to have a pretty coloured username for the longest time.
2. Achievement-wise I think it's fair to say you've had a pretty awesome month. You won 'Friendliest Poster' at the PTF Awards in what wound up being the most one-sided, easiest poll of the whole ceremony. Why/how are you so nice?
It's been really great, I was shocked to hear that it was such a landslide! There were a couple of members who I thought deserved the award more than me. I guess I try to treat people how I'd like to be treated, although I'm not perfect and I have my complete arsehole moments. My partner can definitely vouch for that
3. You're part of the TNA watching minority. Do you feel the show is still pretty solid and worth checking out or is it fair to say that it's on the decline?
I'm really enjoying it at the moment, I think this is the strongest run of shows they've had for a long time. Granted they don't always make the smartest decisions, I was gutted when AJ and then Bad Influence left for example, think they could have done well to hold on to them. But I don't think it's on the decline, not at all. I know many people would disagree though. They have a tonne of talent on that roster and it's nice to have Dixie off TV for a while. I think there will always be a lot of scaremongering on the web about TNA and the way it's run, whether they're going out of business etc. I tend to take no notice, until something actually happens. They're not a perfectly run promotion by any means but it's rare that anything ever comes of half the things that are reported.
4. Rockstar Spud. Explain.
Well he's a brummy for a start, and he's from a part of the city where I spent part of my childhood growing up, so automatically I have a soft spot for him and I really want to see him succeed. I'll admit I'm a little bit infatuated with him at the moment, it must be those suits
But I genuinely think he's awesome from a wrestling perspective too. I've seen a lot of his stuff from the UK indie scene from before and after his neck injury, his ring work is great and he has charisma on the mic too, there's definitely a reason as to why he's been getting so much TV time over the past couple of years and it's been great to see. I think it's safe to say I'm a major Spud mark at the moment. My boyfriend is getting me an I'm With Spud T-shirt for Christmas <3
5. Many months ago now you bitterly rejected me (and then PorkChop) on our offers to take you on a lovely date to Nando's where you could have had a free 1/2 chicken. Do you regret rejecting these advances and, given what we now know about chicken, would you leave you family in favor of eloping to Tesco with @Viazon to enjoy some nice poultry in the car park?
Nope, no regrets here! You guys are nice and all but I'm already taken and I'm very happy in my relationship
I have no intentions of eloping to Tesco with Viazon either, sorry dude! I'm not a massive fan of chicken really (although KFC>Nando's), even less so since those disturbing chicken GIFs have been going round on this site *gag*. I have to really be in the mood for chicken and even then I'll only eat breast, no bones. Bleh.
6. Are you still a FootieNut?
Not so much these days, I loosely follow the game. But I'm just not as invested in it as I once was. I get very tired of all the diving and poor decisions made on the pitch by refs and what not (especially with Birmingham City as they always seem to go against us
) I miss my old username though. There's a lot of memories tied to that name from my younger years.
7. We have a large Brum contingent on the forum (Brum = someone from Birmingham) - if @PorkChop, @Camstud and @Enygma were forced to battle to the death, who'd come out on top?
Hmm, I'm gonna have to say Camstud. Despite his small stature I reckon he could pack a punch, plus I'd imagine he's pretty fast and speed is important when it comes to death matches, imo. Also he's my oldest chum on this site and even though we don't talk as much as we once did years ago obviously I'm going to be a little bit biased.
8. Do you have anything you'd like to share with us that we may not know about you? Any interesting hobbies or interests?
I'm pretty boring really, I enjoy cooking and retro gaming. Oh and I quite like Yankee Candles too, and my favourite colour is purple. But apart from that there's not really anything of interest, not that I can think of anyway, I'm pretty rubbish at answering these kind of questions.
9. Anything else you'd like to say?
Thanks for picking me as member of the month, I really enjoy being part of this community and you're all awesome
