Benedict Cumberbatch in talks to lead in Marvel's upcoming "Doctor Strange" movie

Cumberbatch would definitely be a solid casting choice. I'm not COMPLETELY sold on a Dr. Strange movie at this point but depending on the plot, Cumberbatch would definitely elevate my interest level.

I'm with you on not being sold on a Dr Strange movie at all but in fairness I loved Guardians and felt the same way about that when they announced it. Cumberbatch as the lead is brilliant casting and I'm happy with that though last I'd heard Marvel wanted Joaquin Pheonix who would also have been an awesome choice.

Marvel are set to confirm this news tomorrow (among other announcements) as they debut a proper Avengers 2 trailer. Pumped!

Somehow I just don't see Joaquin Phoenix ever getting involved in a Marvel picture, but maybe that's just me. He seems to have really rejected the whole mainstream blockbuster sort of thing, especially within the last few years.

Yeah I get the vibe from him too, honestly. I did feel though like if there was one character that could tempt him into this whole mega-genre it might be Dr Strange, that seems like an ideal fit for Pheonix

I fucking love Benedict Cumberbatch and am a fan of Doctor Strange so I'm pretty giddy about this and support it 100%. I really enjoyed the animated film "Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme", which I think y'all should give a watch if you haven't seen it. I think a live action Doctor Strange movie could work though obviously live action is far from animated. I'm a big fan of Marvel Studios and think they could pull it off.

Cumberbatch is a great choice. I am not sold on a Docter Strange movie though. Its just not a character that I am fan of.

I hope Bandicoot Cacophony does a good job. Considering that Guardians did so well at introducing the masses to a relatively unknown group of heroes, I hope they can do the same for the Sorcerer Supreme.
