Are Comcast really that bad?

Postby PorkChop » Sep 27, '14, 10:28 am

I obviously don't use Comcast, though on sites like Reddit people talk about them like they're run by Hitler.

Does anyone here use Comcast, and if so... are they really as bad as people say?

Well you will have to ask people in the USA since Comcast in not a provider in Canada. However I bet it like every other TV and Internet provider trying to rip you off.

Comcast is kind of like the monopoly holder of internet/tv/phone services. They are the biggest, certainly not the best, and still quite pricey. Along with their size is a fairly shoddy customer service and care department. There are a lot of rules about where companies can provide their service, and since Comcast is so huge it naturally has a sea of users in their jurisdiction, some people just can't get away from them.

Ehh, in my area I've never had to deal with Comcast. Most people around my area don't even have it. I guess maybe they're so uptight because they are kind of dying as a company.

My dad and I pay $250 a month for cable/internet/phone.

I swear if Comcast didn't have the fastest internet in the area (which I p much need for my Xbox One), I would have left them a long ass time ago.

105MBps, at least for Comcast. There's RCN Cable as well, but that isn't available for the entire city -- and well AT&T's DSL is slow. =\

100 meg is solid though. That's alot better than I thought it would be. I've seen some shocking speeds coming out of America. I think in the UK 150 meg is the most widely available fastest speeds. There's a few specialists that go faster but they're limited to specific cities.
