Do you ever use any of these features on Windows 8?

Postby PorkChop » Sep 26, '14, 12:45 pm

Recently I bought a new laptop, and I had to get to grips with Windows 8. Hated it at first, but over time it's grown on me.

However, I never use the News, Store, Sport etc features. It's pretty cool that you can customise them to show you the news stories you want to see, but I often just forget that they're there.

Does anyone else use these features?

Nope. I just go straight to the desktop and then pretend it's Windows 7.

Then I freak out whenever I realise there's no start menu.

Fuck Windows 8.

I hate Windows 8, my parents have it on their computers and I hate having to figure out how to fix it. They should of just left all the setting in the same spot as it used to be with past windows.

I am not switching ever I will stick with 7 until they don't support it any more just like I stuck out XP to the end until I got a new PC then I got 7.

I hate it with a passion. My dad got a new laptop and asked me to set it up for him... bad mistake!

I understand wanting users of tablets/phones/laptops to have a single platform to use across all devises but it seems to awkward for a laptop/desktop. I wish they would have designed the app screen or whatever they call it to be an optional feature that could be turned on or off by users with the standard desktop being the main system still.

That way those with a surface or any other laplets can have it on incase they are using it as a tablet but those with a bona fide laptop or desktop can turn it off and use the fucking mouse on a desktop like normal people
