Most people are ignorant to his contributions and the media loves to use Kanye as a scapegoat for some odd reason.

Nothing's exaggerated about Kanye, everything his said, he has proven it. Regardless of how you feel, Kanye encouraged self confidence and loving yourself among the black and brown community. Kids who lived in ghettos veered away from drug dealing and wanted to go to college because of this man. Swiss Beats said it best; he inspired a whole generation of kids on how to act, dress, etc. His influence stretches beyond music that's why the whole "you can like his music and still think his a douchebag" thing doesn't work, his music is a reflection of his personality. Hip hop music is driven by the reflections of your own personality and personal life.
