That basically sums up the entire 12 pages of this thread right there.

This thread deserves to be moved to the classics section IMO.

Everything you say is exponentially improved by Jim's famously enthusiastic thumbs-up. :D

Break-ups suck. I've never really had a problem with them, but this one that just happened yesterday was different. This one sucked because there was no real reason for it. :( :( :(

What I have learnt is that there is always a reason for it. However, I have also learnt that sometimes it's best to not know these reasons.

Keep your head up dude. I know it sucks, but you'll get past it.

Re: Dating thread

Postby GNR » Jul 08, '14, 12:03 pm

She told me that "it's not that I don't like you, it's just that dating isn't what I want right now" and she wants to be friends. By all accounts, I've done nothing wrong, I treated her as best as I possibly could. She told me that she wanted me to do nice things for someone that appreciated them and not someone who would be uncomfortable with it, but she's the only one I've ever wanted to go the extra mile for. I understand that I'm young and I have a long way to go, and that there are a lot of other girls out there. I completely get that. What sucks is that there isn't anyone else like her out there. I know how unique and special she is, and I'm not going to be able to find someone like that again, and I just got so attached to her, the thought of someone else being able to make her laugh, someone else being able to tell her that's she's pretty, someone else being there for her when she's down, someone else just being her guy is upsetting for me. We've been close for a long time now. It's really disheartening to have to accept that it's over. Not to mention we already had bought tickets for two concerts, and the fact that I still have to see her because we work together, it's just tough. This one was different than the other ones, this one hurt. :(

I can promise you that this is 100% not true. I've been where you are, and especially when it's a first real big crush or one in your teen years it can feel way more soul crushing than breakups or rejections later on. But this couldn't be farther from the truth. Chances are you'll find someone even better at some point. So keep your chin up, and you can rest easy knowing that you did nothing wrong to end the relationship. There's only so much you can do to make it work.

This makes it seem like she didn't think that you guys were actually together, I hope that wasn't the case. Either way, it just wasn't meant to be. That's what I tell myself when I get rejected, although it's really hard when you get close to someone and think they're perfect, etc. You're a nice guy GNR and you're going to college this year (I think), so you'll be fine man. Plenty of fish in the sea. Except for me. :batista2

Thanks guys. I'm going to college next year, and tbh this just makes me so much more ready for it. I just wish she would talk to me face-to-face. She did this all over text, and after all we'd been through and shared with each other I'm just disappointed that it ended like that. I mean, you're not supposed to do that, right? This is my first serious relationship, and I'm just so disheartened, because this isn't how something like this is supposed to end, right?

The time has flown by so fast, I start applying this fall, it's ridiculous. :lol

Tbh it's going to be hard for me to get over it quickly because I feel that she's not letting me get the closure I want/deserve, but if that's the way she wants to go, after all we've done and been through, then I can't do anything about it, so I can't let it hurt me. It'll take time, but I'll be fine, men. :tim

After almost completely given up on Tinder I am now talking to 6 girls, all with a lot of promising potential. 4 have already said they wanna meet. I'm actually spoilt for choice.

WAT HAPPENS NEXT VIAZON! It's been like a whole month!

BOOM THREAD REVIVAL!

I still haven't made a Tinder. As much as I was into finding a date previously, my life is so busy right now I am not sure I should really try to dedicate to that at the moment.

It'd be cool to find a girl and spend time with, I just dunno, maybe I got burnt out on searching? I think I was trying too hard and just threw the table and said fuck it for a while. They always say it should come naturally and don't force it but, as busy as I am I feel like it'll never happen naturally if I don't make an effort. So confusing.
