These refs are absolutely awful. And I thought 2010 was bad, yet. 2 games in it seems worse. Fuck .

Yeah, it didn't take long for me to remember why this sport is so ludicrous. The reffing in both games so far has been appalling. How can the biggest sport in the world be allowed to operate in this ridiculous fashion.

Yeah it's absolutely ridiculous, and it's terrible for the sport to have it happening on such a huge stage.

Well when you consider the governing body is one of the most corrupt organisations in the world, it's not all that surprising. But of course, they'll never do anything to change things, because they couldn't possibly tarnish the integrity of the game by introducing such devilry like video replays.

Video replays and goal-line technology should have been introduced in 2010 - at the latest. FIFA are dicks.

Spain vs Netherlands coming up, ooooh shiiiit.

Arjen Robben was magical, didn't realise just how quick he was...

Looks like Australia will be getting thumped by the Netherlands, but maybe chance for a victory against Spain now :P

WOW! I really wasn't expecting that. Holland's second half performance was brilliant, they passed the ball well and caused all sorts of problems for the Spain defence. It really should have been 7 or 8-1. Spain were horrific at the same time though. Diego Costa was non existent bar standing on the defenders leg to get an underserved penalty. Any time he was existent then he lost the ball. Hopefully he is as much of a liability for Chelsea, And why is Torres there? They made the right decision taking Costa off obviously but we all know Negredo should be there.

Maybe this will be the kick Spain need to get a bit of motivation back. Sometimes when a team is so dominant for so long they can lose their motivation to perform. But it could also be a case that the strings of the team; the likes of Iniesta and Xavi are getting old and that there time has now past. It'll be interesting to see how they fair against Chile because I honestly think it will be a tough game for them.

Robben was incredible though, the Spanish defence didn't know how to deal with him. He was all over the pitch Spain didn't know how to deal with his pace. He was by far for me the best player on the pitch. Van Persie's first goal was a joy to see as well.

Overall, it was a fascinating game. Hopefully we see more surprises throughout the competition!

What a sick goal Van Persie scored. And what a cross in.

Robin you little beauty. If only Silva had slammed that ball in rather than try to be pretty, could have been a different story had it gone Spain 2-0 rather than 1-1 at half time.

Second half Holland went riot. Spain seemed deflated and just couldn't cope. Ramos/Pique were a shambles. Casillas showed his lack of regular game time with his performance but Del Bosque, and you can't blame him for this, is to believe in the seniors but Chile isn't going to be an easy game especially with Sanchez running with pace in behind.

Robben outpacing Ramos, damn. Former is a prick at times but could watch that on loop.

Wish I'd been in the chat when Holland destroyed Spain, imagine it was mental. Our pub was freaking out, nobody gave the Dutch a chance particularly when Xabi netted that penalty (another horrible reffing decision btw)

Cheered for the Dutch in the last WC and was gutted when they lost the final. I didn't think they had it in them to go as far this year (Especially after that awful appearance at Euro 2012) but after watching them throttle Spain, I have a renewed hope. They looked phenomenal today.

Nah, they've got a front three who could take them far but they've got a different, less experienced back four but they've got promising players. De Jong/Vlaar (latter was brilliant last night), are the guys who have to hold it together for the young 'uns but also Strootman was a big loss for Holland.

Vlaar was great last night, I'm a tad biased as he plays for Villa but he was a rock in the Dutch defence.
