Lance Armstrong and Alex Rodriguez(A-Rod played a similar game with the media over the years as Lance, with the exception of at least admitting he took HGH back with the Rangers).
Ryan Braun deserves a mention too, as he ruined the reputation of a drug testing employee who was guilty of doing what I have no doubt many drug testers do; take shortcuts. We all take a few shortcuts at our jobs, that aren't quite within regulations. You are lying if you say you have never taken one shortcut somewhere, that wasn't exactly by the book, but had the expected result. You learn which shortcuts are acceptable, and which aren't, through experience.
Rather than own up to his mistakes, Ryan Braun chose to use a technicality to get off originally, and accused this individual of tampering with his sample, publicly. I hope that guy sues(or is in the process of doing so) the shit out of him.
The reason I don't necessarily put Braun in the same category as A-Rod and Armstrong just yet, is because he can still make good on this. He's still young, and has time to bounce back. But, he needs to actually own what he did here, and not hide from it.
And the most hated sports figure to me remains...
The late Bill Wirtz, former owner of the Chicago Blackhawks, and father of current owner Rocky Wirtz(Rocky Wirtz is respected quite a bit, after earning that respect back that his father took away)
Bill Wirtz refused to televise Blackhawk games locally, which took Chicago hockey away from the fans, with the exception of nationally televised games. It didn't help that anytime young players started coming up, he'd trade them away. He was called "Dollar" Bill for a reason.
Rocky Wirtz took over the team, and reversed those policies. Chicago Blackhawks games are now aired locally, and the team is much more accessible than it used to be.
The reason I remain bitter with Bill Wirtz(along with many others), is I am sometimes referred to as a bandwagon Blackhawks fan, since they have only started a new trend of success over the last 5-6 years. The real reason most Blackhawks fans appear to be bandwagoners, is we were never able to watch Blackhawks games much growing up, because of Bill Fucking Wirtz. The team didn't get talked about much, out of bitterness.
