Assassins Creed IV. Is it any good?

Postby Viazon » Apr 22, '14, 4:18 am

The AC series have been my favourite games for a while now but I have held off buying this one because I didn't really enjoy ACIII. But I have heard that this is one is actually pretty good. What are the opinions of you guys, if you have played it?

Personally loved AC3 more. If you like naval warfare then this is the game for you. I only enjoyed when I was on land tho. I'd get it if i were you.

I love it. But I wasn't a huge fan of the previous games mostly due to characters and I felt they were a bit repetitive. But the pirate aspect of this game is awesome and is a nice balance to the sneak aspect. That said the sneak aspect is still really cool. Also even the missions and sneak aspects don't seem as repetitive.

AC4 has one of the most beautiful maps I've ever played on any game. I'd score the game a 9/10.

Yeah i'll echo the others thoughts. I think it's a great game and I've had a blast with it. I didn't play ACIII though so I couldn't compare it.

I might pick this up for my PS3 when it goes cheap. Dunno. I didn't like AC3 as much as I had hoped and I didn't really care for the naval battle aspect, but maybe if this one has more of a piratey feel I'd like it. Swash bucklin' sounds fun.

As someone who found AC3 really dull I think this is probably my favourite game in the series.

I'll have to get this then. I have many games I have completed now. I'm sure I can trade them in.

Can I just ask how much of the game you spend out on the sea and in boat combat? Because I hated that in AC3 tbh and I've heard that this is like all pirates and shit.

Not too much. In terms of storyline it's supposed to be 60% on land, 40% at sea, although I spend 90% of time on land. Plus eventually you can fast travel to places, skipping the sailing aspect.

See I am probably spend at least 50% at sea but I love the ship to ship combat aspect.

Im not a huge fan of the naval combat but the ide of downing a ship and boarding it and then taking it is pretty fuckin sweet. Not to mention I can hunt sharks and whales on a daily. It really is a great game, just to much sea for me traveling wise.

Also, FUCK THE MANOWAR.

I haven't completed it yet but it's been a fun game. I just love spending half an hour straight killing guards and looting them.

Just beat it yesterday but I do love killing some guards. Love attacking a few until I get a large group following me then run into a group of pirates for a nice big fight.
