So there was a convo going on in the barbershop today, figured I'd pass it on.
There was a big debate over whether it should be "okay" for a woman to breastfeed in public.
There are those who are completely against it.
There are those who are completely for it.
There are those who say it's okay if it's covered.
Arguments for: It's natural, the baby's just eating, it's not sexual.
Arguments against: Scratching balls is normal, but not done in public. Bathroom use is natural, but not done in public. Etc. etc.
Personally I'm completely cool with it, though I'd prefer the woman at least try to be discreet and use one of those privacy blankets they make. I have personally seen women just bare chest it in the middle of a Wal-mart and then yell at passersby if they so much as glanced in that direction. If you're gonna yell at people for looking, you gotta cover up, sometimes people will gawk until they figure out what's occurring or what they're staring at and then turn away (I call it the slow reaction gawk - like when you drive by a car crash or something).
I didn't realize this was such a big thing but this debate went on in the shop for a good 30 or 45 minutes until some older gentlemen were red in the face.
So there. I contributed.
