What is a show that you think was canceled before it fulfilled its potential?

Hard mode: you are not allowed to say Firefly :P

I think we'll never really know what would have happened had Arrested Development lasted longer than its initial three seasons. We got the fourth season years after the fact on Netflix, but things could have turned out much differently had the show continued its initial run.

My Name Is Earl.

The last episode ended with a cliff hanger FFS. And I'm pretty sure it said to be continued.

Lone Star. Great concept, absolute killer pilot. Cancelled after two episodes. How do you expect a brand new show to build an audience with two episodes?

Ringer. Only lasted one season and was really fun. Plus, it ended without resolving anything.

Last Resort comes to mind. The Pilot episode was one of the highest tension Pilots I have ever seen and the show had some interesting ideas. Unfortunately it was cancelled midseason and had to rush its finish. The shows producers explained where the show planned to go and it sounded really good to me.

Sports Night.

Sorkin was only finding his grove with Sports Night, it could have gotten much better, especially with Clark Gregg joining the cast.

I also agree with this. Seemed like a really interesting show.

I was tempted to say another Sorkin show in Studio 60 on the sunset Strip, but he pretty much got another shot at that in the Newsroom, which felt like the same bloody show.

Blue Mountain State. It was like what American Pie should've been. It's literally created some of the funniest episodes on Television, most notably, the "dick pic" episode.

Firefly. I like to live dangerously. :P It is the most obvious answer for a reason.

Veronica Mars is another one. I think it could have gone for another season or two and stayed at least pretty entertaining. There was scope for the show to go new places as the characters grew up.

Life on a Stick was a hilarious sitcom, but only lasted 13 episodes. That always bummed me out. Anyone who hasn't seen it, I'd advise ye to look it up.

I think the vast majority of shows that are cancelled didn't fulfill their potential, especially the ones that only lasted less than 10 episodes. Shows need time to develop characters, plots, and chemistry between characters that isn't necessarily always there at the beginning.
