Coldplay surprises by putting out a brand new song, "Midnight"

I dig it. I'm not sure I'd put it among their very best work, but what I admire most about this is that they're taking a risk and trying something other than the overly glitzy/commercial sound that plagued their most recent album. This song is pretty reminiscent of Bon Iver. Took some artistic risks and I think it paid off.

Definitely has me intrigued to see what they put out in their new album. I've always been a Coldplay fan, even if they've never quite been able to match the quality of what they did on their first two albums.

Didn't see this til just now. Don't like it quite as much as Midnight, but I like it more than most of their stuff on Mylo Xyloto. They're experimenting with some new sounds which is really cool to see, given how successful they've been. A lot of bands who achieve that level of success wouldn't be so willing to branch out and try new things.

I see that the album drops in just two months. Can't wait
