Not sure Liverpool fans would admit it but I think this game was win-win either way. Arsenal can win this game, good for them. They'll likely get spanked by Bayern and I'd fancy Everton to beat them in the next round. Meanwhile Liverpool get another couple of weeks off to rest as they concentrate solely on getting into the Top 4. Champions League football next season is every Liverpool fan's priority.

That being said it's frustrating how the BT Commentators are talking so highly about Arsenal's good form. I'd rather win 5-1 in the league tbh...

Rooney close to signing a new five and half year deal, worth £300,00 a week.

Rooney's new contract coming means there's a decision to make.

I can't see the combination of RVP up top with Rooney behind and Mata on the right working. It's early days and we'll have to see how they do till the end of the season but the early signs aren't great.

I always felt if Rooney left I wouldn't have shed much tears despite his form this season. His age and lack of desire to keep himself in condition suggests he will struggle once he creeps over 30. But he's staying and he damn well better work hard to prove why he's worth £300,000 a week and earning more than Messi from a wages POV.

I think RVP will leave in the summer and thus allow us to play our £37m man in the position he's best at and allow Rooney to go up top and then it's a case of spending well to fill the slots besides Mata (Januzaj to go to the right of him and Moyes seems to be wanting Reus which I doubt he'll get).

But if we have RVP, Mata, Rooney, Januzaj then on paper and on FIFA, it looks great but in reality, fear we might have similiar issues but who knows. Maybe strengthening the midfield and wing positions might help the fluidity of the front four.

So, Rooney makes suggestions they he may want to leave then gets given a huge contract. All this seems very familiar. I wouldn't pay that much for Rooney. In fact, I would let him go. I'm sure Man U could attract a top striker who would demand less money a weak. Rooney is a great player but I wouldn't expect them to be that desperate to keep him. Especially not at that price. Suarez didn't help himself with theatrical roll over, he was in the air at one point with his roll but should have been a penalty. Only defence I have of Webb for not giving it was that he was maybe straight on so didn't see the full collision from the angle he was standing it. If he more near the D, then he would have given it.

Or not. Refs are hesitant to give two pens to the same team it seems no matter if it is a penalty.

Nope that's bollocks. It was a stone-wall penalty and he's the only fucker in the ground that didn't catch it despite being the first one there. People will say that Suarez' reputation proceeds him which is a fair point but it's Howard Webb's job to put that to the see and make the right call. He dropped the ball for Liverpool the other month against Chelsea too which is probably why I'm bitter. If it was a tough call then sure but that for me is the easiest call to get right he'll have all season.

Bollocks. The commentary team and pretty much the entire world agreed that it was the most stone-wall penalty of the season. Sure Suarez went down theatrically but all the foreigners do that and it's Webb's job to put that to one side and make the call based on the challenge. Fuck that about Sterling too he had his hand on Webb for about 2 seconds in frustration and Webb's common sense prevailed there. I will admit that we were lucky to have Gerrard on the pitch because he should've seen a second yellow for hacking down Oxlade-Chamberlain.

I'm not being biased towards Liverpool because as I said earlier I'm not actually bothered about being eliminated from the cup. I just happen to feel (as does most of the world) that Webb got an easy decision wrong.
