Guess I'm number one today!

The opening segment was great. Kaiser really painted a picture of everything that was happening there, and it just was some really classic over the top heel celebration stuff. Kinda wish Daz would have gotten in some words before getting cuffed, but that's ok. Enmascarado Leon gets the very first title shot? Wouldn't have ever predicted that Should be a fun main event, although I'm quite looking forward to that broomstick match...

Nice little story going on here with NRC. Dale is awesome, haha. I also like the whole best of three series idea, good stuff for the tag division.

I'd do Melissa Chambers too, Kaiser. I would too.

Weighing in at half a Chris Christie... damn the guy can't even get a break in internet wrestling feds! This feud has really progressed nicely. Valentino's gone from a seemingly fun loving guy to a dude fueled by rage, and I like that we're really starting to see that concern Gia. Looking forward to seeing these two finally square off.

Damn, the Master got owned. Love Bishop's intensity, and when he and Phillips finally clash in a meaningful match they're going to have some great chemistry I think. But he's got a hell of a lot of nerve challenging Magnum after the ass kicking Magnum laid down this week. I highly doubt that Magnum is one to back down from a challenge.

Some of these feuds seem like they're just ready right now to have their big blowoff match, and Omega/Richards vs. Disciples is one of those, with Valentine/Zaid being another. I feel like there's going to be some difficulty stretching these out over a few more weeks to a PPV without the feuds getting stale, because they've heated up so much that it almost seems like the time is right now to strike with a big match. That's not to say the writers aren't doing a good job - they are, and this segment was great - but the "End it Now" title of this segment was pretty apt. Time to get these guys into a ring and settle things.

Foster's really growing into his role as a face now, to the point where he'd be a really believable face of the company figure. Really solid face promo, calling out Miller, good stuff. Glad we didn't get yet another beating of Foster here, that's been done enough. Spencer's example of Drake Bernard though was wonderfully vile. I'm not sure who this associate could be, or if I even like the idea of Miller HAVING associates when we've already got one other heel stable in the fed, but the segment certainly put them over as a threat.

I disagree with Cage - I think there's SOME doubt that Enmascarado deserves this match but nonetheless, should be a good one. I love the announcer's huge speech for Cavanah, haha. Kaiser blindfolding himself and tying his arms behind his back... something tells me this is another fake Enmascarado. Ah yep, here we go, a fingerpoke of doom moment .

Wait, wtf, so Enmascarado doesn't exist? Is Porkchop even in the fed? And now there's hints of a mystery vice president? This is all getting kind of Russo-esque here, and not in a good way. Well, here comes Ryan Haynes, so I guess we have a main event, but I'm not sure if I'm following exactly what's going on here.

Good job building up Haynes as being worn out since the Escalation match. I like that Field Plow mania is still running wild, haha.The match really did a solid job of building up Haynes as a threat, with all the near falls and other business. Slightly surprised at the DQ finish, thought we'd get a clean pinfall here, but the way it ended still added to each man's character so that worked out well. Haynes just got the stuffing beat out of him, too... is he gonna be out for a while?

Daz! It's about time Kaiser gets the beating he deserves. Dazaster Driver through the table! Awwww yeah. Mark out moment. Great way to end the show, and that's going to be one hell of a main event for Oblivion.

Porckchop/Enmascarado's sign up was fake. One of the goals we had with this storyline was to get Porky interested in PCW and motivate him to sign up a real character later on. We're off the road to Escalation and on the road to Oblivion! (the road to oblivion... boy that sounds sinister...)

So, here's my thoughts on the show.

The thing with Magnum is, he's in the undercard but he's the kind of character that could move up to face a huge babyface opponent easily and it wouldn't feel rushed, because the level of writing on his character is top-notch. We figured we'd give him a win here just to build up his mean streak. Reason why we went for the "referee stoppage" instead of the DQ finish was because we had another DQ planned for the Haynes/Kaiser match. I think a referee stoppage works just as well if not even better. Magnum doesn't care about getting the pinfall, he just wants to dominate the fucker he's facing. This was all Tim's idea to separate Magnum from the other heels, and it's worked great.

It's nice to have Buck on the crew. Before this segment, I didn't know much of anything about Buck other than he was a big part of SOS. So it was a great idea that Buck opened his promo with a paragraph listing his accomplishments. And by god, this guy is a big deal. So I'm glad to have him on board once again, and it's cool that he has history with Omega and Daz. It was a really nice touch blasting Buck with the SOS world title. That was brilliant, haha. Magnum's spiel at the end, ending with IT'S MY TIME NOW BITCH! was badass. And I'm looking forward to Buck's response to all this. That should build up pretty nicely.

Zero and One segment accomplished what it needed to. The interactions between the members of NRC are always fun to read. I think that's one of the reasons they're a great tag team - all 3 members have their own personalities and roles in the team, but at the end of the day they're still a team and must constantly struggle to act like a well oiled machine. That's a cool gimmick.

Zaid's A-list was once again fucking hilarious. The initial sock puppet stuff with Johnny V had me laughing out loud. I think we've done a pretty good job building up this feud without much pacing issues. It's obvious now that Zaid has gotten inside Valentino's head. Is that going to be an advantage or disadvantage? We'll see.

LOL at Master getting a jobber entrance. He didn't fare too well in the match either, haha. Brett's promo at the end gave me a real Shane Evans vibe. And I would know, because my character has been on the receiving end of several Evans promos. It's certainly going to be interesting to see what happens when these two asskickers collide on the big stage. Looking forward to Magnum's response to this call-out as well.

End it Now - Tim brought up a great point that some of these feuds need to get blown off soon because they are red hot. Dicsiples/Omega is another one of those. We're currently considering doing one more show before Oblivion because there really isn't anything more that can be done with a lot of our feuds. Now for this segment, I like how it went. At first Amos was reluctant to get in a match with Omega, calling him unworthy and all that jazz, but you have to believe that the ending of this segment may have changed Hess's mind. A storm's brewing between these 5. A storm that may send them all to oblivion.

Foster keeps getting better and better at promos. I like how the announcers played up Foster's performance at Escalation at the start of the segment. That performance pretty much sums up what Foster is all about. Miller giving Foster the ultimatum was certainly sinister. Drake Bernard was taken out because PhenomRocks seems to have disappeared. Which is a shame, but hey, on the bright side, now we have one more guy to use as cannon fodder. Looking forward to Miller and Foster's stuff next week. Very solid segment.

Last segment hit all the right notes. I like Daz once again reinforcing his title as Cavanah's "Law and order" in PCW. And so, these two finally get to go at it in a singles PPV main event. Great job Daz!

Ok, I wanna throw some questions out there for you guys:

1.) Zaid has gotten inside Johnny Valentino's head more and more during the last couple shows. First Zaid cost Johnny V the chance to be #25 in the Escalation match, then he eliminated Johnny V from the Escalation match itself. Both of these results occurred because Johnny V was too focused on beating the hell out of Zaid instead of being focused on winning the match. When these two have their match, do you see Zaid's mind games costing Johnny V the victory yet again?

2.) Activity has been pretty flat in the PCW section during the last couple of weeks. Can you think of any activities we can do in the PCW section that might keep this place active even in the usually-dead period between shows being posted?

3.) We have a new sign-up in the character sign-up thread. Check it out! What do you think of him?

4.) In your mind, which writer or character has improved the most since the first couple PCW shows?

1. I think the best way to go with this story from a booking standpoint is to have Zaid pick up the victory and continue to push some tension between Johnny and Gia. I probably wouldn't have the two wind up splitting up when all is said and done, but it's been a nice storyline and I think there's some more mileage to be had out of it. So I think Zaid probably winds up beating Johnny at Oblivion. Could very well be wrong, though.

2. Not sure how much you can do from a mod standpoint, people just need to pick it up and make threads/comment on stuff. I'll try to help with that. It's like in any other sectinon of the forum, the more threads get created, the more people are going to comment.

3. I'll take a look in a bit.

4. I think jdd is the most improved writer when considering where he was at in WCSF and where he is now. Still certainly can improve more, but he's leaps and bounds beyond where he was back in the day.

I think the most improved character is Nick Foster. He was starting to heat up toward the end of the WCSF but was still missing "something." He's found that something here in PCW. I think it's this face veteran role he's playing... it really works for him. I think it's the most believable and interesting that he's been in any role yet.

As for the questions-

2) I think more people should try using the "PCW Youtube" and write little webisode type things every now and then. I was thinking of having different charcters as guest on Zaids A-List but havnt figured how to work that out yet. Hopefully theres some people that would be down for that.

3)Ace was the only person i had a feud with in my short time at WCSF and I liked his character. I think his character will work better on a smaller roster like this. The character will have more direction and stuff.

4) For character, id say Johnny Valentino has improved the lost since episode one. In his first segment i didnt really know what his guy was all about. Now with the whole anger issues thing, hes really become one of my favorites in the show and not just because im writing with him.

I really liked the whole "Kaiser Cavanah Wrestling" angle with Burke not being around for the majority of the show. Everything that happened showed Kaiser was running the show, including the commercials.

The Enmascardo Leon title match threw me off with the "breath of doom" finish, but when it was explained that it was all a ruse by Kaiser the entire time, it made more sense.

Magnum Phillips is a bad ass.

Looking forward to seeing more of the Buck. I don't think I've ever had the opportunity to read any of his stuff before, so I appreciate the history he gave to us at the beginning of his promo, as it gave us who were unfamiliar with him a brief glimpse into his past.

As always, Zaid's A-list was a lot of fun. He's really getting into the head of Valentino. He just needs to make sure he doesn't release a rage he can't handle.

Looking forward to the showdown between Kaiser and Daz at Oblivion. It should be one hell of a match.

Ryan Haynes looked great in his match against Kaiser, but it'll be interesting to see what his future holds after the brutal beating his arm took post-match.

25 Men, 1 Champion – First and foremost having Kaiser enter to the BeeGee’s was nothing short of a masterstroke. I legit laughed out loud when I first read this and I can totally imagine Kaiser strutting down to the ring like Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. Daz being arrested was a cool touch and I’m sure that I’m not the only one who compared this to when Vince had Austin arrested years ago. Saying that I think this feud we have right now for the title is very reminiscent (or could be) of Rock vs Austin. Daz and Kaiser are the two biggest stars we have and I think we could be on about to witness one of the EPIC sim-fed rivalries. Really looking forward to their first encounter at Oblivion. I thought it was a little strange upon initial reading that Enmascardo Leon would get a fast-track to a world title shot one night after debuting but I suppose he has legit reason to be pissed and it sort of made sense later in the show.

Magnum vs Sato – Phillips has these little characterizations that might not get recognised as they’re only small little details but these are the type of things I’m digging about the character right now. Like the way he acted courteous before ambushing Sato and the impressive manner in which he broke out of the early cover attempt. It’s these little details that make the character stand out as a pure powerhouse. Magnum is a scary character due to how much he simply enjoys hurting people – not in a sadistic, maniacal way that a Hess/Reaper type character would but beating people up is genuinely something Phillips likes to do – he doesn’t do it for any sadistic thrill but rather because he can. That’s a scary mindset and I can see that translating well as a face somewhere down the road. Standard match and victory for Phillips, not sure to say about Sato – he doesn’t have a whole lot going for him right now.

On the Shoulders of our Heroes – Cool to see Buck back as a full-timer. I first signed up to the WCSF just a few months before you retired so I’m not that familiar with your work as a writer but I know all about the SOS and I’m all for new faces in the PCW, especially those that have history with some of the existing characters. Not sure I’d have had the crowd as hot as they were because the character has been gone for a really long time and for a lot of writers it may have been a bit confusing but that’s just me being hyper-critical I guess and it didn’t really matter because both The Buck and the commentators did a nice job of summing up who Buck was right off the bat. I thought it was a little strange that Buck was Magnum’s guest at all and it was odd that Phillips said that he “didn’t bother speaking to Buck at Escalation but invited him here anyway”

Another piece of dialogue that confused me a little bit was when Buck said “Magnum, you say you’ve never met me because I seem to remember knowing someone who looked just like you. Maybe a little smaller, not quite as tan, not so many tattoos, but just as big of a mouth.” – Now I’m sure that’s a reference to the past (Daz? Omega?) but to me at least it didn’t really make sense. After the way he interacted with Sato at the beginning of their match it was no surprise to see Magnum quickly resort to form and assault Buck with the SOS Title (nice touch) no less. This was a cool segment that I enjoyed reading and again, it’s nice to have Buck back – I’m sure you’re only going to get better and better as the weeks go on and I’m looking forward to seeing you in action.

Zero and One – Simple segment from Catwalk that added to the growing tension and dysfunction Brody and Dale have with one another, really looking forward to seeing these two click because when it happens it’ll be fire.

Zaid’s A-List – Awesome to see the A-List make it’s first appearance on a live show. This is something JDD created himself by showing initiative and I commend you for doing something extra to stand-out. True to form, this was hilarious. My personal highlight would be when Puppet Valentino said “Pretty shitty Zaid, all I can think about is how much better you are at everything than me” Whilst this was entertaining as always I was hoping for something a little different. We all know Zaid is inside Johnny V’s head, he’s been there since Day 1 and Valentino never really got his hands on Zaid at the last PPV. I’d like to see something different between these two heading into the Oblivion – perhaps Valentino does something to rock Zaid’s supreme confidence to level the playing field, mentally at least, before they finally get their hands on one another.

The Master vs Orion Bishop – “Already in the ring, THE MASTER!” Brilliant. Not a big loss to see The Master squashed, I didn’t know Bishop had such a devastating finisher though so that was cool to read. Pretty straight-forward stuff from Bishop this week as he makes quick work of his opponent then cuts a short and sweet promo challenging Magnum. Phillips has a lot of people gunning for him now and it’ll be interesting to see these two collide at the PPV.

End It Now! – Things between Hess and Omega have reached boiling point now. Really cool to see Omega’s team end up with the upper-hand and Hess and his Disciples the ones being scorned, a position they’re not used too. I don’t even know what these two teams can do next week without killing each other. Whatever match-up happens at Oblivion it’s sure to be intense.

He’s Here – Cheers for the kind words about the segment. Yeah I’m really enjoying playing the face Veteran role and personally feel like my writing right now is the best I’ve done in my 8 years in the game and hopefully people are enjoying the programme Foster and Miller are in right now. Anyone have any ideas on who Spencer Miller’s associate could be?

Kaiser/Leon – Just over one month (in fiction land) of PCW and we already have our very own ‘fingerpoke of doom’ moment.

The Hand of Justice – Bummed that PorkChop was never actually a member but hey ho perhaps he’ll sign up one day in the future. I’m not sure about Ryan Haynes – I don’t think we’ve really seen much from him in the past few weeks besides him being a ring-underdog. I reckon the audience needs another reason to be invested in Haynes besides him facing bad-guys. Considering everyone else seems to have a feud going on and the main event at Oblivion being Daz vs Kaiser I don’t really know what’s going to happen with Haynes or what he’s going to do at Oblivion. Perhaps he’ll find his way into the title match.

Cavanah vs Haynes – All that being said having Haynes be Kaiser’s surprise title defence was a good call because we all know Haynes can beat Cavanah, he’s done it a few times now and it’d really hype the crowd up that they might see an upset again. Haynes lasting over an hour in the Escalation match was a nice rub to give to the character and it shows how much heart he has. Laughed at the Field Plow chants although I think I the future they should be kept to Amos Hess matches haha. That Kaiser Bomb counter into a Frankensteiner was badass, kudos to whoever wrote that spot in and the way the follow-up cover was written was clever – writing the Three! Before announcing the kick-out was a really good move to try con the readers upon initial reading. The match ended keeping both men looking strong as again Haynes adds to his never-say-die reputation – again Ryan Haynes has bags of potential but I’d like to see a layer of his character that doesn’t rely on his in-ring heart but that’s not a slight on the character, that’s more of a request

Showdown Looming – Daz returning to the arena in again, true Stone Cold Steve Austin fashion. I’m not sure if that’s the intention or if Daz wants that comparison but you can have it anyway. Butterfly Brainbuster Daz Driver through the table to damn near take the roof of the place was a crazy spot and a much needed one in a Kaiser heavy show to end with the challenger Daz on top. First time meeting at Oblivion, one week to go before the next PPV – can’t wait!

25 Men, 1 Champion – My first reading of PCW, but I thought I’d take a look and see how things are developing. Cavanah is up to his old tricks and I love the way this show started and the detail and lengths Kaiser went to with the description. The only problem I have with this segment and it’s kind of minor, there just seemed to be too much going on. Things could have been done in a different order or something to keep the pacing up, but everything was really well written.

Phillips vs Sato – Good match with good action and distinctive styles between the two wrestlers. My question is I’ve never seen a match end that way and have the assaultant gain a victory due to referee decision. I thought for sure that was headed for a DQ. Still a good match, I just would have handled the end a little different.

On the Shoulders of Heroes – Good promo and Magnum is clearly a really unlikable guy. He really reminds me of a young Austin completely brash and off the wall. Violent attack to end the match and I wonder if the SOS championship will play a part. I kind of hope it will.

0 and 1 – Interesting promo here. It seems a little early to me to be teasing tension in a tag team and potentially breaking them up, but hopefully NRO gets their acts together and everything gets straightened out by the end of the series.

Zaid’s A-List – Zaid’s got a good basic wrestling character although some of the jokes about Valentino were pretty cliché, also work on the punctuation because that can be really distracting. Valentino looked certainly passionate and aggressive and it was a pretty good brief look at his character.

The Master vs Bishop – The match was OK. I mean action was solid and all, but it was pretty brief and I didn’t learn much about either character. It would have been nice to get a little personality in the match. The post-match went on to show why Bishop was angry and in a hurry to finish the match, but it would help a lot to include that in the match itself. I really did like the post-match, it got straight to the point and struck the right chord.

End it Now – Being new to the show this segment didn’t make a lot of sense to me with it referring to previous things. It doesn’t however change the fact that I love Omega and Amos Hess’ work and this was no different.

He’s Here – Good segment with some intensity. I like both Miller and Foster. I also like that this promo introduced a bit of suspense and mystery. I think when wrestling has an angle like this it pulls people in to see what’s next more so than any other type of angle.

Cavanah vs Leon – This fit Cavanah’s style, but can’t say I was very entertained by this one and don’t think it’s necessarily a good look for the company as a whole, but oh well.

Hand of Justice – Good promo that saves the previous match a little bit. The whole hired gun angle was a good way to wrap that up.

Cavanah vs Haynes – I’m not sure who this Ryan Haynes is, but I really like him after tonight. A great match between the two with so much emotion and excitement. I like it. Now to a bit of a booking quandary, we started with the first match and the last match of the night ending pretty much with the same actions forcing an end and the referee giving opposite decisions of the two things. Getting consistent with things are important because it gives the product a better sense of realism.

Showdown Looming – Way to end the show at a high point with lots of energy. Great assault by Daz and a stellar announcement. Love the way this show ended!

Alright, that one slipped my mind, but my point about the same thing happening in the main event for the referee to give the opposite decision still stands. The more consistent people are with rules the more it will blend better and seem more realistic.

Loved the blurred logo and Kaiser renaming the show. Having the actual blurred logo and Kaiser Cavanah Wrestling logo only added to things. It’s the little differences like this that have made me such a fan of the PDF format and just setting it apart from WCSF in general.

25 Men, One Champion: The strippers, Kaiser’s face plastered everywhere ... he’s such a pompous prick. Love it. Kaiser is just killing it with is promos, insulting Burke, wrestling the Broomstick, having Daz restrained before he could even get a word out ... all great. Then Enmascarado Leon’s intervention and challenging Kaser to defend his title was the perfect capper to the segment.

Dear God, Kaiser in the Commercial Breaks ... there aren’t enough words.

Magnum Phillips vs. Hiroshi Sato: I really dig Magnum Phillips. Tim obviously knows what he’s doing, and he’s had experience writing these big intimidating bruisers before. I like that Saito was given a little shine before Magnum annihilated him. I don’t have a problem with the finish. It’s a TKO, Saito couldn’t defend himself, Magnum wasn’t breaking any rules, he was just being a prick. Fair enough I say. It’s a good way for a heel to be dominant without resorting to the classic tropes and clichés.

On the Shoulders of Our Heroes: It’s nice to see Buck back. What happened to “2,000 Watts” as the entrance music though sir? Also, Magnum Phillips must have made a hell of a deal with Daz to get his hands on that SOS World title belt. Definitely an interesting segment that re-introduced Buck and put Magnum on the one to watch list. Lone Star Slam is also a kickass move name. Just saying.

Zero & One: So much fun writing Adrian Dale. I’ve almost had to tone down Melissa Chambers just to get in more Dale dialogue.

Zaid’s A-List: The A-List logo having a bow tie is the best thing ever. I love Zaid’s shameless hitting on Gia. He’s such a delightful dirtbag. You know who Zaid reminds me of? The Millar before Spencer Miller. The Chris Christie line was gold and the Johnny V sock puppet had me chuckling to myself. Valentino destroying the A-List set was great. This is a good little undercard feud and Zaid continues to entertain me.

The Master vs. Orion Bishop: Short and sweet. Bishop got his point cross and his post-match promo was far more succinct than Magnum’s earlier words. Got the job done.

End it Now!: Ah, Daz is Omega’s best friend. More good promo work by Omega, and obviously Hess is always golden. I’ve really enjoyed the way this feud has played out since PCW began, with Hess targeting Richard, forcing Omega out of retirement and now refusing to meet him one on one. The Canadian Wrecking Crew playing the Disciples at their own game with the sneak attack was a nice touch and I really can’t wait to see how this one winds up. I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised to see Omega vs. Hess in some form of gimmick match down the line. Perhaps at some point when Daz has wiped the floor with Kaiser, he can join forces with the Canadians (COMMONWEALTH 4 LYFE~!!!) and help them take down Hess and his followers. He’s Here: Fantastic face promo from Foster, calling out Miller. Loved the little intercutting between each line with the Foster chant. Great commentary too, selling the injuries and how dire the situation was for Foster once Miller’s music hit. Miller showing some of his old school cockiness as he delivered the promo about giving Foster the night off was great. The attack on Bernard by the mystery associate was excellent, and honestly I have no idea where you’re going with this, but I can’t wait to find out. Miller vs. Foster is gonna steal the show when they eventually clash, that’s my bold prediction. It’s gonna be a fucking fight for sure.

Kaiser Cavanah vs. Enmascarado Leon: Dear Christ this was brilliant. Kaiser Cavanah is the ultimate heel. Blow of Doom? The stalling, blindfolding himself, having his arms tied behind his back, then Leon taking a dive for him. Perfect way to get under Daz’s skin.

The Hand of Justice: Burke’s line about being richer than Cavanah and being able to afford better security was hilarious. The Enmascardo Leon explanation may have been a little convoluted but I appreciated the attempt to tie up the storyline. Kaiser Cavanah vs. Ryan Haynes: Great work on the arm by Kaiser. Loved the Field Plow chant in the middle of the match. Nice false finish off the Frankensteiner, also good psychology referencing back to their initial match on the very first Onslaught. Loved the commentary, saying Kaiser wants to prove Hayne’s victories over him were flukes. Little touches like Kaiser pinning the bad arm down for the cover is why he’s so good. Stopping the match for a disqualification is a little jarring considering the earlier match with Magnum Phillips. I’d have like to have seen Kaiser perhaps get a chair or some sort of weapon involved to really warrant it.

Showdown Looming: These final segments all bled perfectly into one another, escalating as they went along until Kaiser finally got his comeuppance at the hands of “The British Rose.2 It was really good booking and you could just picture the crowd getting hotter and hotter as Kaiser pulled out one trick after another. Perhaps I dragged the beatdown on Kaiser out a little too long, but you know, he’d been running his mouth the whole show and probably deserved the ass kicking. The promo to close the show wasn’t my best work, but it got the point across and I can’t wait for Daz/Kaiser to finally meet in the ring.
