T-Mobile sticks it to the big 3 yet again

Postby Westcoastvibes » Jan 08, '14, 10:43 pm

T-Mobile has announced that it will start paying sprint/Verizon/at&t customers early termination fees if they ditch their respective carriers for T-Mobile

In a nutshell, T-Mobile will pay up to $350 per line plus give you up to $200 if you relinquish your current phone and plan with one of the big 3 and sign up for T-Mobile and their $50 uncontracted everything plan with a new phone

I could be a bit off but they are offering unlimited data, no international roaming on voice or data, unlimited talk/text, no contract, unlimited data for life on any tablets tied to the plan with a free 500mb/month mobile tethering and extra lines or tablets are $10 a month with same features. Plus any T-Mobile smartphone is available on a monthly payment plan with $0 down.

What do you all think of this? I know I am with Verizon and just for 2 phones with 4gig of data per phone is over $200 a month after tax's. It discusts me that I pay that much a month but early termination fees combined with limited coverage from at&t and sprint in my area have all but forced me into what I have now for anything that resembles a smart phone.
T-Mobile claims to have 4g in my area and reports are saying that their network is expanding faster than hell right now combined with some deal with Verizon for T-Mobile to use the same bandwidth or frequency (foreign talk to me) for the LTE coverage. I have read some things saying T-Mobile has THE fastest 4g service in america and at its current expansion rate will have a larger 4g service area than the current leader Verizon

I am seriously contemplating taking them up on this deal.

Wow, cool stuff. I've been on a Verizon plan with my mom for as long as I can remember, but I'm certainly going to check this out.

I have T-Mobile, and I'm quite happy with it. I don't really know all the details of what we have since my mom handles it, but it's been fine for me.

If only they would buy me out of my current smart phone contract with them so I could have a basic phone again.

I'd do this but every one I've ever come across in person that uses T-Mobile never has service, can't download even simple jpg's faster than a 56k modem (if at all), and is usually very miserable.

They just added LTE coverage in San Antonio, and it blows AT&T's LTE out of the water. I'm really digging T-Mobile, and I'm going to sign up after I move.
