2016 NFL Offseason Moves Thread

Figured I'd get this kicked off! Now that it's March, there are going to be a lot of releases/signings/franchise taggings. Let's get it going!

Just today:

-Broncos franchise tagged Von Miller. Surely he'll end up getting a long-term contract, but this is some extra insurance.

-Bills released Mario Williams. Wonder where he'll land?

-Panthers are set to franchise tag Josh Norman with the intent to get a long-term deal done.

-Bills franchise tagged LT Cordy Glenn

-Saints officially cut Marques Colston, their all-time leading receiver, after 10 years with the team.

Cordy Glenn getting franchised isn't unexpected, but I was really interested to see how much money he could have made in free agency. A 26 year old Pro Bowl LT. Those don't just come around often. Assuming he stays healthy, he is in for a massive payday next off season.

Outside of that, I will be interested to see if the Lions take a look at Mario Williams.

Yeah wherever Mario Williams goes, one would think it'll have to be in a 4-3 system. He was really playing out of position in Buffalo.

Eagles signed Sam Bradford to a two year, 36 mil deal with 26 mil guaranteed.

He ends up playing for another losing team because seeking out a center in free agency and paying him 10m a year or more isn't exactly a winning formula.

Gonna be interestnig to see where he winds up. Could see Denver snagging him if they end up losing Osweiler to Houston. Don't see that as being overly likely but still.

Now this is coming out of nowhere. Not surprising that the Eagles are moving on from him but I didn't see it happening in a trade.

I expect a very sad next few days. Browns won't be mentioned except when Mack, Schwartz, Benjamin and Gipson all sign with new teams. Just creating four more holes to fill, to go along with the 12 they already had to fill. Using 10 draft picks to fix 16 holes in the starting lineup, the new front office is going to need those Harvard educated brains to get this done.

Lions get help to fill the void left by Calvin. I really like Marvin Jones. He got kind of overshadowed by AJ Green in Cincy. When Green was out hurt Jones was a beast. He isn't going to be as good as CJ, but he lessens the blow a good amount.

Money. It has to be money. It was reported that Denver was offering $16M a year. Bradford got $18M a year. So I would imagine that Osweiler is getting around $18M to $19M a year.

Osweiler might be money, it might also be ego. It's possible that he wasn't happy when he was benched after the Broncos were winning with him. There weren't necessarily reports to that effect, but he could have bottled that up.

Also, Alex Mack is going to the Atlanta Falcons.
