Also. The thread was not really meant to be a debate on illegal immigration, but just because someone is against illegal immigration does not make them a racist. I'm all for people coming to our country through the appropriate avenues and obtaining citizenship. I don't care what color you are or country you're from. Just do it the right way. And many many many people do.

However, the burden illegal immigration puts on our system is mind blowing. And do good people come into the country illegally? Sure they do. But if you don't think there's not a significant amount of a criminal element coming into our country also you live in a fantasy land. I see it every day. I've personally arrested illegal immigrants for a variety of crimes ranging from violent offenses, to drinking and driving (with no license and insurance mind you) leading to a crash killing someone, to stealing social security numbers to obtain benefits, the list goes on and on. Not to mention the cartel influx in the southwest. It's a real problem that I'm not sure any one of these political candidates can get a grip on.

Trump just now on John McCain: "He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured."

Seriously, this guy is just fucking with us all, right?!

As if the Democrats are the party of hope, get out of here. Nothing pisses me off more than a bunch of docile lambs going to the slaughter by voting for a career politician neo-con (yes, she's a conservative) in Clinton.

Do you actually think voting doesn't matter? Because if you do, you're part of the problem.

To be honest, this is why I like Clinton. I'm a moderate Democrat, and she's about as moderate as they come. She is generally liberal, but she will now and then go against the majority opinion of her party, and I happened to agree with her almost every time she does. Here's the most recent example.

As far as her competition: I like Bernie, I really do, and as a youngster he does stand for a lot of things that are important for me that no other politician really has the balls to stand for, which is a great thing because maybe he'll inspire young people to vote more so that future candidates will focus on the issues he focuses on. But the guy has a completely ridiculous economic platform. His ideas for social reforms are equally ridiculous. He would not be a good president by any means.

I take issue with Clinton's fakeness.

Image

She just wants to be president. She'd lie, she'd change up her beliefs, for that reason. I don't think she's running for the good of the country, she's running because it's on her bucket list. Only reason why she's a Democrat is because of Bill, if Bill didn't exist, she'd be a conservative IMO. While she'll run on social issues, Rand will run on the real issues (IE: Patriot Act).

She might get anihilated in debates if Trump makes it because Trump's not running as a political correct pussy, he'll call her down to the dirt if he wants to, because Trump doesn't report to anyone.

Image

If I was a Democrat I'd probably go Sanders because he's not backed by big money bankers who control America. The Hillary campaign is produced by, catered by, directed by, the banks.

Sanders scares me with his ideas that makes me think he'll run the Scandinavian experiment in the states. Which IMO will cost the taxpayers millions. He's still more honest than Hillary.

You really think that flip-flopping and lying are things exclusive to Clinton? Because your boy Rand is certainly guilty of it.

I'll be voting for Sanders in the primaries knowing Clinton will beat him, and then I'll be voting Clinton in the actual election.

I don't have a boy. Rand's not the optimal candidate for me. No one who's running really is a fit for me. Rand's the closest I've got. I'd like to see Clinton stand for 10 hours fighting for the security of the citizens. Voting for Clinton is bending over for Wall Street.

Rand Paul's slogan is defeat the Washington machine. If you think even for a second someone funded by Goldman Sachs isn't going to be bending over for Wall Street, well, good luck to you, that's all I can say. Government money will come to an end with Paul, or at least be slowed down. You vote Clinton, Libs will be chanting same old shit faster than a Big Show vs. Kane match.

The right decision is to never let any of the major corporate-owned political parties near power again. Unfortunately, most of the world lives under a highly concentrated and coercive system of power that is also intrinsically disadvantageous and oppressive to anyone aspiring to challenge or eradicate such a monopoly. The fact that one's measure of capital appertains to their chances of entering the political arena of any country is deeply dysfunctional and problematic, and not indicative of a democracy at all. Funnily enough, most people acknowledge and accept this yet feel powerless to do anything about it. That's a product of cultural hegemony if there ever was one.

Both parties do this. Both placate to who ever funds them the most. If you want change, make a point to vote for your congressman/congresswomen. They control change just as much as the president. People argue over who the figure head is, but if the Obama presidency has taught us anything, its that it doesn't matter what the president wants if Congress doesn't play ball. In most cases the public gets watered down bills and policies with hidden language. The hidden langauge is the most dangerous part of any bill. By hidden language I mean the paragraphs that are written into the fine print of documents that are used to get politicians with opposing opinions to play ball.

From what I've personally discerned in American politics, electoral campaigns primarily nucleate around domestic policy instead of foreign policy. It's the same here in Australia - the people in this country have absolutely no conception on what our foreign policy is because it doesn't seem to openly and directly effect us, and this is a disconcertingly ignorant view to hold. I guess I can see why it is understandable to relate to, yes, but it is also troublesome because many have been conditioned to believe that a candidates domestic ideological outlook is the only feature that fundamentally matters during an election because it has more of a chance of impacting you. I don't think the ruling oligarchs of the US government have too much of a patent interest in American domestic affairs (i.e., gun control, abortion, gay marriage, and, to a lesser extent, welfare distribution and healthcare) than they do foreign affairs (global trade, war and conflict, monopoly over natural resources, the military industrial complex, high-tech advancements, the general ongoing strive towards hegemony and dominance). This is part of the illusion of politics, in my opinion. One candidate could have radically diverging views on domestic policy than another candidate, but on a foreign level, they could be virtually indistinguishable.

This is precisely why there has seldom been moments in history where there has been a core ideological disagreement between the Republicans and Democrats when it comes to truly consequential world events. Domestically, sure, there is quite a large disparity between the two parties, but there's more flexibility when it comes to prescribing policy at home, in the country, than aboard where true corporate interests and power lie.
