The Shield and Wyatt Family set to feud early next year.

During tonight's episode of SmackDown (which has already aired overseas), a video package airs highlighting the heated conclusion of Raw and the brawl is not shown. According to F4WOnline.com today, people within the organization feel it was a tease that will be touched again early next year. Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer stated in this week's issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that creative had suggested they duel at WrestleMania XXX.

P.S. As a rule take what Meltzer says with a grain of salt.

Other than both these teams having three people, I see no reason for them to fight. They're both heel teams. The Wyatts wouldn't work as a face team were they to turn and the Shield wouldn't work quite as well as a face team. They could pull it off possibly, but doing it for the sake of it would be counterproductive. It would just lead to them breaking up immediately after their feud with the Wyatts ran its course and its members could flounder as a result.

^^^ I agree. The wrestling matches may be great between these teams, but the feud would suck. I can't see a face angle working for either of these teams as they are constituted. I'd much rather the Rollins vs Ambrose feud when the Shield breakup rather than this.

Plus I though Reigns was on the fast track to turn face and split with the group.

Yeah, the rumours around the Shield definitely seem to contradict each other.

Ideally I would say keep them as intimidating heels until they run their course, then have someone turn face and battle the other two a little, before the group just falls apart completely. You could have that face be Reigns or Rollins (but not Ambrose). Having them face another group of three almost makes them less interesting. The unparalleled intimidating group working in perfect unison is more compelling and it makes their eventual split more exciting.
