Edited a few more in. I've sort of been dripping the topics in rather than splurging the entire conference in one go so it's not quite the avalanche I mentioned before. :lol

^ I didn't post about it because I'm not really all that interested in this Battlefront tbh. I'm not a fan of the developer they've got on it and everything I've seen makes it look like a Battlefield reskin. Doesn't seem like it'd be my cup of tea as much as I liked the original Battlefront games.

You could easily say the same thing about the original games, though. With the exception of the space battles, but they weren't even well-done. I didn't own the first one, but I played Battlefront II pretty frequently when it came out, and that's exactly what it was: a shooting game set in the Star Wars universe, not much different than a Call of Duty or a Battlefield. And then gameplay comes out showing how the new Battlefront is - wait for this - a shooting game set in the Star Wars universe. And everyone's upset about it?

Being a Star Wars shooter is a given, it's pretty silly to think that all shooters are the same though. I don't have an issue with it being what it always has been, I just don't want it to feel like Battlefield as that style of gameplay isn't satisfying to me. From everything I've seen, that's how the game looks. If it doesn't turn out that way and it's actually enjoyable, great. But that's why I didn't post about it.

Either way, I edited it into the OP. ;)

I don't really play shooters very much. I think the only ones I've played more than one or two times would be Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Battlefield 3, and obviously Battlefront II. To me, they're all basically the same. What would they do differently?

I couldn't tell you exactly why I don't enjoy the Battlefield series, I've never really taken the time to examine what it is about their particular take on the FPS genre that I don't enjoy, I only know that I don't enjoy it. I'm not trying to condemn the new Battlefront for looking like it's similar to Battlefield, just saying that unless they make significant changes (and I haven't seen them, yet) it won't be for me.
