You should have just told him you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you didn't want to talk bad about your neighbors, you wanted to respect women, and you weren't there to judge someone's cleanliness. Maybe even ask him if he'd like to discuss Jesus Christ.

So, good news today.

Where I work, they have implemented major changes in the shift patterns. Usually, I would rotate between doing 9-5 and 2-10 every week. They have decided have only 10-6 and 1-9 shifts with no one rotating. Whatever shift you are on, you do that shift permanently. I was one of the ones lucky enough to get the morning shift. This guy is on the late. We will never do the same shift again. So now I no longer need to ever give him a lift.

I am fairly ecstatic about it.

Wait until he works a double to cover for somebody that calls off. Sorry, couldn't resist being a buzzkill.

Won't happen. Someone just doesn't work a double when someone calls in. Doesn't work like that. Even so, he will still be finishing at 9 while I will be leaving at 6. Ain't gonna happen.

Probably. He found out he was doing his shift a few days ago and the first thing he said when he saw me was that he hopes I am on the same shift. I am so glad I'm not.

I do feel bad for some of my co-workers though. Everyone wanted to be on the early shift but only a certain amount of people could get it. They literally pulled names out of a hat. I felt bad showing my joy while others were pissed off.

^Yeah I imagine it's quite bloody brilliant to be doing a 9-5. Known people doing factory work doing really inflexible shifts varying similiar to the ones you said before and speaking from experience, it's awesome doing 9-5 Monday-Friday and having the weekends off. Love it.

To be fair, I think I'd rather be doing the late shift, than alternating all the time. So it might be an improvement for some of the others too, just not to the same extent. Work is a lot easier when you can get into that rhythm, which I always found very hard to do when my hours weren't fixed.
