Seeing Miliband hand in hand with Obama would make me sick because he's a slimy toff pretending to be a man of the people despite not knowing how to eat a bacon sandwich like a normal human being. That said so are the rest of them - the lesser of all evils is Clegg but the Lib Dems have less of chance of winning than UKIP do (which is humiliating for the country). If you don't vote Tory or Labour anything else feels like a protest vote and what good does that do?
I might just tick other and write Taj's name down.

This election has been pretty interesting. I've not really had much chance to post any lengthy thoughts here about it. My thoughts on the debate were like everyone elses really. Ed looked weird. Nigel was a fuckwit. Cameron lied. The ladies were the only ones talking sense but really only one of them was applicable to us and Natlie Bennett has about as much chance at being elected as I do.
This whole election has been an interesting showcase on how much our current system doesnt work. Even just on the debate level. Why on earth were SNP and Plaid Cymru even involved as much as they were. I agree with a lot of what they said, especially Nicola Sturgeon but it's not at all applicable to me. All SNP and Plaid Cymru were there for were to take pot shots at the other parties and to get their agenda's across.
it's telling that there's no real favourite to win. Nick Clegg, Ed Milliband and David Cameron all have their good and bad points. In theory Nick Clegg should be the best candidate for what we need but the reality is that the Liberal Democrats don't have the numbers to hold any real majority of their own just yet. We don't need as much austerity as David Cameron is promising. But the fact is it has worked to a point. We just don't need cuts where he's proposing. But, obviously, he's not going to cut where is needed. Like the rich.
Miliband is just not a leader. He's sniveling, back tracking and untrustworthy. Labour these days are nothing like the left wing party they should be anyway. Miliband will most likely cowtow to whatever authority figures in the Labour party tell him to do, whatever he gets bullied into in the Commons and whatever he gets bulled into with Foreign leaders. People tend to forget that New Labour made a lot of decisions that were pretty much Conservative. They gave a lot ot big business and they really hit the working class and middle classes hard at times. I do agree with him on the fact that we need to stay in Europe. Even having a referendum is dangerous. We need to work together with the rest of Europe. We're not the conquering Empire we once were.
Migration is just a fact of life. The world is made smaller by technology and engineering. People always think of migration as a one way street. As if it's just the filthy Polish people that come here and no one ever leaves. But we do leave. We are all free to leave (within reason) and go and work and live in Germany or France or Spain or wherever else you want to go in Europe. That's one of the beauties of the European Union and Cameron is smoking grade A crack if he thinks he can negotiate out of that. Even if he does, it will hurt us.
The problem with the Liberal Democrats are the fact that they're in no position to ever command any convincing lead to run the country. They're the party most aligned with my sensibilities and I believe they are the party that would be right for this country at the moment. Maybe some will disagree and I welcome that but I do think their policies and taxation would benefit the country as a whole. It's a shame some of their greatest minds and assets weren't used in the Coalition and maybe the enter Coalition has tarnished their reputation for sometime (free University, lol jokes, fees are going up).
The problem with our current state in this country is that we have parties who are reactively putting time and effort on immigration because of UKIP. We have two major parties concerned with the budget (as they should be) but both parties will stunt growth trying to defeat the problem. The resession hit hard for people my age. There's no much growth, little opportunity. I'm 28 and i'm no where near getting my own place. I have no savings to get such a place because the cost of living as gone up significantly. I just went and spent 60 quid on a shop that won't last a week. These are real life concerns and unfortunately, while the budget does impact those problems, we're probably taking a larger hit than we need to when it comes to "balancing the books". Long term growth is earned through spending. The richer the people, the richer the country. That is unless all the money is going to very few select places and people and funelled overseas.
It's difficult to know who to vote for at this current stage. I don't think either party will do good and the parties that really we want to garner a larger amount of support, Green and Lib Dems won't get it. If we're lucky UKIP will die out but who knows. There's lots of brainless racist chavs that could cast their votes this time round.
As for your comment about voting for me, it's not the first time i've ever thought about running for local council or politics in general. My problem is that I don't really have time to research the finer points and I just like to commentate on the general proceedings. Who know's though, maybe one day. I know i'd do better than Gove.
