MLS' coverage is so much better then the english leagues, 5 games shown live on tv channels and the rest are shown via MLS live, pretty much every game gets shown live and they still get great crowds!

Right I'm down to two - New England or Portland. I figure I'd enjoy watching New England play based on the comparison SKS gave likening them to Liverpool. Portland's traditions just sound cool as fuck and SKS mentioned they have a good fan-base, I just don't have a clue as to how decent they are at football.

^ I think Seattle and Portland have the best rivalry from what I've seen. The fans from both sides are crazy, I'm not sure how good Portland is right now but Seattle is always above average. Maybe watch the first week and then decide?

Jozy scored a double for Toronto's win over Vancouver. Not one but TWO goals. Unheard of.

Excited for the matches today, although I'm expecting us to lose at Orlando. Maybe the team will surprise me.

@prophet

Portland is pretty good. They were 6th in their Conference last season and just missed the playoffs, they were first in their Conference the year before. Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver are all in the Pacific Northwest and the team with the best head to head record against the other two teams wins the Cascadia Cup.

New England might be best known for making the MLS Cup Final 5 times in their history and losing every time, including last season. So they have been good but just can't win the big one.

[tweet]prophet[/tweet] Portland are very Tottenhamy always in around the top 8 but never quite reach past that but in terms of their fanbase they're nothing like Spurs, Portland fans are one of the best they're very german and when they play Seattle its incredible!

New England are very very Liverpool, always in and around the top 3 but never quite got to the top then had a few brief years in a slump before last year really come alive with the emergence of Lee Nguyen who was fantastic and finished with 20 goals, they've got next no defenders (like 7 in total) so they may struggle if injuries hit

If it was me I'd go for the Revs as they're more like Liverpool then Portland

Fun match. Gutted due to the lucky deflection on the free kick. Felt like Orlando deserved a goal in the first half though, 1-1 seems like a fair result. On to the next one :tim

@SKS I HAVE DECIDED!

Image

I'm gonna go with Portland. I enjoyed the New England comparison and felt like rooting for them but I'd rather start following a team that isn't as successful and cheer them on to good things...plus that video you linked me of their fans full on swung me in that direction, most English sounding supporters I've come across. Plus we already have a Revs fan on here and variety is good, we can have more rivalries now.

GO TIMBERS! :tim

NYCFC get their first ever victory, at home against New England (eat it @alpha beast) :D :tim

David Villa's goal to make it 1-0: http://streamable.com/avh1

Delightful goal, and a great first match at Yankee Stadium. Atmosphere was there. New England really had a bunch of chances in the first half, we were lucky to hold the lead to be honest. Saunders made a great save on a point blank header from Aguedelo. But the second half NYC really took control, red card for the Revolution practically sealed it.

Also, Orlando City got their first victory against the Dynamo, @Slightlyjames your keeper made a mess of a clearance allowing the goal. :lol

The Galaxy face off against the Timbers tonight, @prophet I'm hoping they take down LA for ya. :cheers2

I watched the game! Not a classic by any means but the goal was really well worked and NYC probably deserved it in the end.

Gonna watch the Timbers now! :tim

SKC were terrible last night against FC Dallas, with zero pace on the wings we don't look good at all, we seem intent on playing a 4-3-3 but with no pace out wide to beat fullbacks we struggle to break teams down. Benny Feilhaber is our most creative player but every time I saw him last night he was far too deep, I said at the time that once we allowed both C. J. Sapong and Soony Saad to leave if we didn't replace their speed we'd struggle.

Dom Dwyer not scoring doesn't help, several missed chances last week along with a missed penalty this week doesn't make for pleasant viewing at all!

Gutted about that result, thought 'we' did well and deserved to win. Good result though, LA are one of the better sides.

I'm fully in this now. First match watched and I was fully gutted at the end (which is exactly what happened when I watched my first Packer game). I'm a Timber fan.
