I have had this discussion way too many times, but Joe Pa was praised in Happy Valley, if he knew anything and it didn't stop then he gets some blame for what happened after he found out.

I don't know shit about it, but what if it was just something assumed, and never dared talked about? I doubt he was walking in on anything. Again, I know jaaaaaack shit about it.

Here's how it has described as happening. Joe Pa only ever heard one unsubstantiated report about it and he passed it up the chain of command as someone should in his position. The only inkling Joe Pa has ever been shown to have about it is a graduate assistant coach came to him and said he saw something happen in the locker room, but the grad assistant said he wasn't even completely sure of what he saw. We are talking about a man that had basically been Joe Pa's best friend for decades. Put yourself in his shoes, if you heard somebody you don't really know say that about your best friend would you really believe him? I know I wouldn't be very likely to.

Even so, he did report that McQueary came to him and said this to the university president and athletic director. Now, you want to pass along accessory blame for what Sandusky did, these two men apparently had knowledge of four different occasions when someone made some kind of complaint against Sandusky and they did nothing, they hid it all. I find those two men to be far more vile than Joe Pa.

Again, people look at this situation as complete outsiders and don't take the natural human emotion elements of it. Joe Pa in the end really was just a friend who was too loyal and didn't want to believe an unsubstantiated story he had heard from someone he didn't know very well about his best friend.

Giant douche and horrible person aren't really the same thing though. If you're going to pick someone in wrestling for being a horrible person, Punk should be waaaaaaay down the list. Some of these guys are genuinely terrible people.

Almost forgot, Ray Lewis. Loved for his play in the NFL and passion, but was part of a murder investigation that he was the murderer or witnessed the murder.
