Christmas Gifts

Postby Kein » Dec 16, '14, 3:46 pm

So... The place is looking more festive and either I am blind or there is no real Christmas holiday thread up in here? If there is please point me in the right direction. OTHERWISE~!

What are you guys getting others for Christmas? What are you hoping to do or get for Christmas?

Who is a scrooge?

I'm the biggest scrooge going this year, even Scrooge himself would tell me to lighten up.

I'm hoping for the latest Football Manager game and socks. I haven't done any shopping yet though.

I love Christmas! I've been proper organised this year, finished all my Christmas shopping and have done most of the wrapping to boot. Just need to get around and deliver all the gifts.

I have bought my other half this season's Birmingham City shirt as his main present, I've also got him Joker's Wild II from when TNA were in Birmingham earlier this year, thought that would be pretty cool since we were in attendance for that event. He's got me an I'm With Spud t-shirt, and something else but I don't know what it is. We've got our daughter a scooter, toy Dyson vacuum and some paints and accessories. Tried not to go over board with the presents this year, there will come a time where she will be asking for the entire contents of the Argos catalogue so we figured we may as well keep things simple during the early years.

I have no idea what else I'm getting tbh, except for a new dressing gown off my nan and granddad (Bugs Bunny one, it's so cool!). I'm secretly hoping for a fair bit of cash, since we are moving house in January so could do with it to put towards some new furniture and what not, hoping to get some good deals in the January sales.

Even though I don't get the same joy as I did when I was a kid, I do still love Christmas. There is just an atmosphere in the air that I like. It's also the getting together with your friends and family and having a drink. Always a good occasion.

I still have done no Christmas shopping. My plan is to do it all this weekend.

I had trouble with a few people this year, but I think I've done alright with what I got. I usually get Kirbi a few small gifts as her birthday is in January and I tend to get her a big gift for that. So I just got her various odds and ends that I'm sure she'll like.

I got a bottle of ron miel (honey rum) imported for my brother. We had it in the Canaries a few years ago and he loved it, but you can't find it anywhere here. So I reckon he'll be chuffed with that. That was probably my best idea this year.

I'm also planning a scavenger hunt on Christmas day for a bonus present: Whoever finds it first gets it. The idea just popped into my head a couple of weeks ago and I thought it'd be a laugh. I haven't told anyone about it, but I'm hiding the first clue in a jar of sweets (candy) I bought for the house, so people should stumble upon it while they're hanging around relaxing.

Dunno what I'm hoping to get from other people really. Some good books, graphic novels or DVDs would be good. Maybe some retro games that I haven't secured for my collection yet. I'm not buying myself too many treats while saving for my wedding, so it'd be cool to have some random stuff to play around with.

I am pretty scroogey except when it comes to gifts. I like to get others gifts because I know that is a big part of the holiday for a lot of my friends and families. If I don't do it and no one else delivers it's usually just a bit disappointing and so if I can make others have a better time in that sense I will. It just kinda turned into a "if you want it done right do it yourself" kind of thing, I don't count on others to make it happen.

Now, my father is a bigger scrooge than I am, when people get him gifts he even tells them to take it back. However I know what he likes. I am going to get him cinnamon rolls, mutha fucka loves cinnamon rolls.

I got my brother-in law and my sister some unbreakable cups, 10oz and 16oz sizes, they have a kid who is 1.5 years old and I figure it may help a bit since hes learning to get his hands dirty at the dinner table.

I am debating on giving my sister a temperpedic pillow, she loves pillows and having a kid she has been having issues sleeping. I know the pillow wont make her magically get better sleep but it might help. If she doesn't want it my mother will benefit from it as well.

I got my mother some slippers, she doesn't wear warm slippers in the house anymore but I remember she used to so it just kind of dawned on me she will probably like them.

Got my best friends wife a vest, shes very picky with clothes but the past two years I have been very successful with my clothing choices for her. I am not as optimistic with this years choice but we will see how it goes.

I have no idea what to get my best friend. He has a wife and a kid and a big house and makes money and buys what he wants whenever he really wants it so it is really difficult to buy shit for him. I am still thinking this one over.

My brother is a lot like my friend, and it sucks. He's a bit tech savvy so I am considering getting him the pebble watch for his phone, its a watch with a screen that sync's via bluetooth I believe. Kinda nifty, pretty customizable too, and he is all about customization. I just don't know how PRACTICAL it is as a gift for him or if he will really use it a lot... So still on the fence.

No one ever really asks what I want for christmas, oddly enough I get the least amount of shit cause I am also hard to shop for. I am not expecting anything, but if I could get some gifts, I would like a headset to go with my motorcycle helmets, a new watch would be cool, money cause I love money, a house, and a girlfriend. Ya know, typical guy stuff.

I decided to buy my friend a BBQ grill but his wife is being difficult and says they had plans for a natural gas line from the house for a specific grill. She is purposely not disclosing exactly which grill it is. rood.

Honestly some people! Sounds like you've put a lot of thought into the gifts that you've bought for people though.
