Jericho has a 3rd autobiography coming out

Just read about this. I loved the first two, and he's a great storyteller with some great stories to tell. Apparently he writes about his feud with Michaels, which should be great. He also admits that his return in 2007 fell flat and that he was inspired to be the heel he was in 08 by Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men.

And remember: He's from Winnipeg, not Long Island, or Toronto:

I'm sorry, but no one lives an interesting enough life to warrant three biographies. That's why you wait until you are close to retirement to write the first one.

His second one wasn't an enjoyable as his first to me. He wrote a lot more about his music career and metal which just doesn't interest me nearly as much as the wrestling stuff. I'd imagine this book will be more of the same.

What could he possibly write in three biographies?

"Today I had a shit. The consistency was just right. Not too hard or soft, just right. Flowed naturally."

At this point he should just stop calling them autobiographies and start calling them memoirs. There are very few people in this world who need two autobiographies, let alone three.

The first autobiography was pretty decent. It was framed as the triumphant tale of a wrestler's journey to WWE which was effective from a narrative point of view, but which very much came across as revisionist history as a result. So there were pros and cons to his first book, but it was worth a read.

The second autobiography was kinda insufferable. Even though everyone who read the book was obviously going to be a wrestling fan, he often dedicated as much space to Fozzy gigs attended by literally 20 people as to entire Wrestlemania feuds. He talked about various side projects that are of interest to nobody but himself. He tried to invent new words and get them to catch on. Every time he mentioned Benoit he deliberately took a weird dig at WWE's stance to never mention him on television again. There was a whole lot of douchiness in that book.

It basically let the reader know what they should have guessed already, based on the fact that he was planning to release 3 (at least) autobiographies: Chris Jericho thinks he's a lot more interesting than he actually is.

I read his second book and tbf, having not read his first because not overly interested in his pre-WWE journey, I enjoyed it. Didn't enjoy the Fozzy parts but it was a decent read. Bret Hart's book still the more enjoyable.

But he's taking the piss with a third book. Could have put the third "autobiography" online for a cheaper price.

The first book seemed genuine to me. The second was just an effort to promote and sell Fozzy in an infomercial kind of way.

I wonder how may fans Jericho has that know him almost exclusively because of his music? I mean I can only imagine a high percentage of his fans know him mostly from his wrestling career. How successful is his music career anyway? Is he pretty much given musical attention because of his wrestling fame or is he actually respected in the metal community?

These are the kinds of things I think about :P

Yes, they aren't as much autobiographies as much as memoirs - certainly the 2nd and 3rd books. He's been in the business for a long time so he surely has a ton of interesting stories but it would have been nicer to see more content in each book.

I always find it hard to tell. I reckon his band has a bit of a following outside of wrestling fans, but it's not a particularly big one. They're not a hugely successful band in any case. I know when they play in Dublin, they don't get any of the proper venues, they basically just play in bars.

The guitarist is also the guitarist from Stuck Mojo, so there might be a bit of crossover between the fans of those two bands. That's probably where most of their non-wrestling fans come from. But Stuck Mojo aren't exactly a massive band either, just more credible for members of the metal scene. :P
