That's poor planning.

It is unfortunate that it happens, but I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the arenas being booked so road trips are necessitated by other events going on. I'm happy that at least the long western road trip is at the start of the season and many of the real important games will be played at home or close to it, in Toronto or Montreal or Buffalo or Boston.

I definitely understand it from a logistics point of view. If you're a team coming down from Canada to play a team in California, of course you're gonna play the Ducks, the Sharks and the Kings on the bounce. Why would you make that trip 3 times when you can do it once and go around the loop so to speak. But six to nine games? I guess as you said, it has a lot to do with the buildings being booked/building work etc. and I guess it evens out over an 82 game season.

And finally, Karlsson and Spezza look like their old selves again. And Turris and Ryan, what an awesome combo.

Soooooo....anyone have an extra goalie up for grabs? I'm looking in your direction Kyle. Also can this season just end already. Eakins system is just not working with the personnel he has. I know it's early in the season but we should be so much better. At least I'm not MacT, this start to the season has probably taken a couple years off his life.

Don't ya know?? Ryan Miller's gonna go to Edmonton!! :P

Jets with a huge come from behind win over the Blues down 2 in the 3rd. Losing Trouba on a stretcher was rough, but luckily he looks like he's going to be okay.

Hah like that'll ever happen. His wife is an actress and regular wives already hate moving here. He'll be joining the islanders and will help lead them into their new life in Brooklyn. Hiller, Elliot and Neuvirth are the new Oilers targets right now. Elliot and Neuvirth are both still young but I'm hoping they can pry Hiller away from Anaheim as long as he signs an extension. I really like Hiller.

You can't have Hiller. I've decided.

He's a UFA at the end if the season and the Ducks have no cap space to bring him back at a starters salary. Besides y'all still have Fasth. You could also maybe bring in Ryan Miller. Like I said his wife is an actress and he wil probably want to play near NYC or LA.

Also my Oilers won tonight and all it took was a visit to the Senators barn. At least my team has been able to beat both Kyles and SKSs teams. Also judging from the radio broadcast Dubnyk actually resembled an NHL goalie. Nuge had a great showing and hopefully he continues to be a stud. Who woulda thought shoulder surgery would make him better haha. Hopefully Hall isn't burn badly. The team needs him if it wants to be successful.

Lehner will be the best goaltender in the world in 5 years. We aren't giving him up.

The Sens really need to stop taking penalties. They are f+cking destroying us.

I was actually talking about Anderson. He'd be a good option while Roy, or maybe Bunz, develops. I know a lot of Oiler fans want to give up on Roy already but he's only 22. Goalies take a long time to properly develop. Though I'd part ways with Yakupov for Lehner. C'mon, Nail has the potential to be a top right winger. He'd look great on a future line with Zibanejad. Think about it!!!!

If Dallas Eakins hates Yakupov, then I'm sure MacLean does too. The Sens are a 200-foot team, and we can't have guys who are selfish. We learned with Kovalev. And as I said about Lehner, the guy is going to be the best in the world in a few years.

Well seeing how Lundqvist should still be playing for at least 7 more years then Lehner will have to settle for second best ;)

Let's not forget at a couple years ago Cory Schneider was supposed to become to best goalie in the league by now. Lehner should be a real quality starter but it's hard to judge what will happen with goalies. Who would have thought Hasek became better than Belfour or that CuJo would become one of the best goalies ever.

Everyone could have predicted Hasek would be better than Belfour.

Well it's easy saying that now. Back in the early 90's Belfour was one of the very best in the world. It's a shame he was never able to play well with others. All I'm saying is it's easy to say "so and so will be the best in a couple years" and it's another thing for it to actually happen.

TSN hyped this game so much I thought it was back in Ottawa, turned out it was in Detroit. Dummies.

There haven't been enough fights and Zamboni deaths this season.

Overall, a failure.
