This is Chris Sheridan, and he's currently the ONLY news source saying that LeBron is going back to Cleveland. Nobody else has confirmed anything. It's 100% speculation still at this point.

Well, several reasons:
1) Ohio is LeBron's home, Cleveland is his hometown team. Regardless of what happened, LeBron still has very strong ties to the area and it's still an attractive destination for him.
2) They've had what, three #1 picks in the last four years? Kyrie Irving is a solid young star to have alongside him, and if Wiggins pans out then they've got a good thing going with a young supporting cast. LeBron still has a long career ahead of him, and he wasn't going to see sustained success for years to come playing for one of the oldest teams in the league.
3) LeBron will be a fucking god if he brings a title to Cleveland.
4) It's in the Eastern Conference. Adding LeBron alone makes the Cavs the favorite to win the conference title.

Because winning 1 ring in Cleveland is like winning 6 rings to any other team.

Everlong wrote:^Literally nothing has been confirmed. Not even Stephen A. Smith has confirmed it. He said he's been "hearing" LeBron would go back, but he's not confirmed anything.
Claiming it's confirmed is the very definition of sensationalism. Stephen A didn't report that LeBron is going to Cavs, he even said that it's not completely for sure.
DanielsonTHAGOAT wrote:But Stephen A Smith said it. He is the first person that broke the news of LeBron to Miami.

Just because he said it doesn't make it confirmation. Here's what he said:
"No one in LeBron’s camp is talking. However, someone always tells someone who tells someone. What I’m hearing is he’s returning to Cleveland. Which is just shocking to me. However, LeBron, as much as he respects Riley felt that he could have treated his confidents and mom a little bit better. He really didnt like Wade getting shutdown so much during the season. Who would want to leave South Beach for Cleveland? I’m told this was more of a goodbye to Pat Riley. Even though Wade is his best friend he made it clear its about business first. Wade may have tried talking him out of it and so did Riley. These are all things I’m hearing. Is it true? Who the hell knows, but its what I’m hearing. You cant trust what anyone says now days."
In that, he says:
"It is true, who the hell knows."
Dude's just throwing out speculation and hedging his bets with a quote like that. He doesn't know anything. If he did, he didn't need to throw that "who the hell knows" bit in there. Right now, nobody knows anything. If they did, we'd have people being more vocal with their confirmations. Even that Sheridan dude just said it's a 90% chance. He's using that 10% to hedge his bet.
