Evan Turner.
From a monetary standpoint, I get why you trade Danny Granger, but from a basketball standpoint, Evan Turner was the worst possible choice to get in return. Turner is young and kind of reckless. He was the #2 pick in the draft, he's been on a treadmill of stupidity with the Sixers, he gets traded to the top team in the conference, and he desperately wants to prove himself a viable contributor on a good team. The problem is that Evan Turner is a scorer and nothing more, and this exposes Frank Vogel as not being an elite coach yet. He's a good coach, but an elite coach, like a Gregg Popovich or a Rick Carlisle or a Doc Rivers, Pat Riley, Phil Jackson, etc., they're able to kind of reign in a player like Turner and keep him from getting into confrontations with Lance Stephenson, which causes strain then with George Hill and Roy Hibbert.
I think Danny Granger was kind of the glue that held this team together. He was more of a veteran leader to this young Pacer team than I think anyone realized. I'm guessing he kept things from going out of control. But when you trade him and bring in a young gun who wants to get his, that's that first move in Jenga that causes the tower to wobble, and soon, the whole thing collapses.
