I know y'all don't know me personally, but I just wanted to share some good news in my life.
Since Thanksgiving 2012, my wife, our daughter, and I, have had to live in a hotel due to not having a place to live. At $260/week, you can imagine I wasn't thrilled, but with no other options, we moved in. In those 14 months, we've gone through 4 management changes, multiple rude neighbors, a hit and run that damaged our car and the front of the hotel, and a multitude of other issues. We've had our ups and downs, and we've had to make sacrifices to make ends meet, but it's worked out. My wife and I have both had steady jobs for over a year now, and this week I became a full-time employee for Pegatron, where I had been a temp for the past year. Due to this great fortune (and our tax refund), we finally found a house to rent and are checking out of this hotel on Saturday. To say that we are happy, would be an understatement. It is a massive relief to finally get out from under this $1000/month umbrella and get out of this 1 room we've been stuck in. My daughter will finally get her own bedroom, and we'll finally be independent like we've desired since we moved to Louisville.
I'm pleased...and I will be more pleased on Saturday night, when Lillie, Zoey, and I are sitting on our couch, watching TV in our new living room...in peace.
