Seen any Christmas films yet?

Postby Matteo » Dec 23, '13, 1:43 am

I viewed Bad Santa last night which I've seen an innumerable amount of times. Such a well-written comedy (I understand the Coen brothers had some creative shaping in the film, so that is always awesome), and Billy Bob Thornton depicts the alcoholic-ridden mess of a lowlife pretty well.

I want to see a few more Christmas films by the 25th, namely Elf and Home Alone, but we'll see how time holds up.

Home Alone 1&2 were on AMC yesterday, so I watched those. I've watched all the cartoon christmas specials so far, and I'm waiting on It's a Wonderful Life on Tuesday since I watch that every year.

I've watched Die Hard and Scrooge (the 1951 version, not the crappy remakes)

Die hard is a movie that takes place during christmas, ergo christmas movie, same with Lethal Weapon.

Die Hard actually popped up during a quiz for a Xmas party I went to and I was like WTF. Die Hard - A Christmas movie? Is this a mistake?

But apparently the film takes place in Christmas but was it released during Christmas aswell? I wouldn't particularly describe it as a Christmas movie if it was released in the summer but yet has something Christmassy related in the plot.

The original version of "Miracle on 34th Street" was released in May...

I watched Jingle all the Way the other day - such a great film. The main film I watch this time of year isn't even a festive film - Catch Me If You Can. I've always watched it at Chirstmas/New Year time for some reason.
