He was reportedly 15 at the time, and was already hugely famous by this point. The clip was filmed backstage during a promotional event for his 'Never Say Never' documentary. That clip was also filmed 3 years ago, so it's not as if it's some historical artifact.

You can't really chalk this up to him being too young to know what he is saying. He is obviously old enough in that video to know what the KKK is. When I was that age I damn sure knew what the KKK was and I damn sure knew it was wrong to discriminate against other races. It he was something like 6 years old, maybe I could understand, but not 15.
