All-time favorite artists/bands?

Who can't you stop listening to? We all have those bands and musicians that we all listen to and love. Others come and go but they are something you're always in the mood for.

For me personally the number one is far and away Meat Loaf. He's just the perfect package of music I think. His lyrics are great, the instrumentals are amazing and he just has so much passion in his voice. I can listen to him day and night and I'm sad I've never been able to see him live.

I'm also a big fan of Black Sabbath and Ozzy. I love to sit out by a fire with some friends and beer and listen to them. Especially the guitar playing of Tony Iommi, Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde.

Another timeless classic is Johnny Cash. He's a great choice to play and sing along to while driving around town, doing chores/working or simply relaxing at home. I know very few people who don't like the Man in Black.

Other honorable mentions include: Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr, Garth Brooks, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Label Society, Gojira and Russian Circles

Radiohead is my all time favorite band. The way they can completly change their sound album after album, yet still sound amazing is great. The next time they tour i definatley plan on getting tickets, even if it means going alone since mone of my friends are huge fans of them.

Michael Jackson - Easily the greatest musician of all time. He has such a deep catalog and his made songs/albums under so many genres. Rock, funk, soul, pop, R&B, hell I think he even had a rap song too

Pink Floyd - I love to listen to these guys at night and smoke some hookah to their music. You really go onto a trip listening to their albums.

Nas - Such a beautiful lyricist, if anyone loves literature, they'd appreciate Nas. He paints a vivid picture like no other artist.

Outkast - These guys are the Pink Floyd of the hip hop genre. Lots of dope physcdellic music but they still keep a raw grip on rapping.

Also love the Beatles, Radiohead, Alice in Chains and Dommin.

I also have a weird affinity for musicals. I've spent one too many days listening to Singin' in the Rain.

Good to see I still have Chewy around to make all my posts in the music forum that much shorter. Haven't heard of Dommin, but the rest of these are all favourites of mine.

Alice in Chains is pretty much my favourite band ever. Going to see them in Glasgow in November so I'm already getting psyched about that. Faith No More is the first band I ever loved and basically anything with Patton involved is going to rule.

Screaming Trees, Pearl Jam, Silverchair, Temple of the Dog, Mad Season and Stone Temple Pilots are some other favourites of mine. Basically I like a lot of early 90s grunge stuff. It never gets old.

In terms of some more mellow music, I dig Mark Lanegan, Jeff Buckley and Pink Floyd also.

John Butler Trio: John Butler is the greatest musician of our time IMO. "Ocean" is a song with no lyrics, but it tells more of a story then most movies.

Pink Floyd: This shouldn't need explanation.

Blind Mellon: Criminally underrated band

Pearl Jam: I could listen to there Sirius radio station for hours.

Best current main stream band would be between Mumford and Sons, and The Black Keys.

I have a huge love for jam band music and Reggae so DMB and Bob Marley also would rate.
