I always thought the Nickleback hate was a bit silly too. They were an incredibly generic soft rock band when they broke big. And an inoffensive one at that. Harmless. I think everyone just started hating on them because it was funny to do so. I doubt many really loathed them as much as they claimed, or as much as certain other bands. Back when hating on Nickleback became the done thing years ago, I always wondered why people didn't reserve that energy for hating the likes of Good Charlotte instead.

I looked at the video above though, and I'd understand people hating them now. That's not generic or harmless, it's downright awful. None of that, thank you.

The hate started cause chad kroger is a douchebag.

When he teamed up with the guy from seether to do the spiderman song (heroes i think) chad ended up screwing the seether guy out of a large majority of the royalties, at the time he was also pulling 75% of the bands profit while the other members had to split the remaining 25% because he negotiated the bands contract and they took his word for it. Now i assume all has been settled since the band is still together but it was still a douche move. Plus he gets to sleep with avril lavigne whenever he feels like it and that is also makes him a douche.
