What non-star wars movies are you looking forward to seeing?

Christmas Day is a huge release day for a ton of movies. Are there any that you're looking forward to seeing other than Star Wars?

I'm particularly excited for The Revenant, but the Concussion movie could also be interesting.

The Revenant looks promising. The director, Alejandro González Iñárritu did a good job with his Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) last year and this is his anticipated follow up.

Terrence Malick's new film Knight of Cups is likely going to be wonderful, but they keep bumping back the release date for us in the states.

I'm barely interested in The Revenant, despite Birdman being maybe my favourite film of the year. It looks like Iñárritu is back to his old tricks. I'm sure this is very well made, but it also looks pretty dour and getting through it is probably a bit of an arduous task.

I'm not sure how the film releases in the US line up with here, but here are a few films I'm looking forward to seeing over the next while:

- Spotlight
- The Peanuts Movie
- The Hateful Eight
- The Big Short
- Probably a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting

I assume we are talking the immediate future:

1. The Hateful Eight - This is possibly Tarantino's final film or his second to last, I can't remember. Either way I am looking forward to it. Outside of his Grind House film, I love every Tarantino movie.

2. The Revenant - The premise and cast alone have me very interested in this movie. I was one of the few people who wasn't in love with Birdman though. I do love that people seems to be making more western/frontier movies lately. That is a time period that seriously interests me.

3. The Big Short - I have watched pretty much every documentary on the American financial crisis including the HBO made for TV movie "Too Big to Fail" (It's great if you haven't seen it). I like that this movie is a little different. It explores the times right before the financial crisis and how people took advantage. At least that is what I got from the trailer. It will also be interesting to see how much levity the movie has when it is talking about a serious topic.

4. Deadpool - Deadpool is far and away my favorite comic character. Adding a R-rated comedy style movie will be a nice break from the constant blockbuster superhero movies that have come out. Ryan Reynolds has never been more built to play a part in his life. He has basically put his heart and soul into this movie and it has showed in every promo/trailer I have seen. The new trailer comes out on Christmas Day and I can't wait.

5. Zoolander 2 - The original Zoolander was just one of the movies that was just part of my High school years. It is just one of those guilty pleasures that I can't resist.

Yea, he has mentioned that his 10th film maybe his last. The link below has part of the story. It does mention that "The Hateful Eight" is his 8th film and he has two more to go.
