Anyone catch this series starrring The Rock in the States?

It's coming on in the UK starting tomorrow on Sky Atlantic 10pm, got it on record but a review said it touches upon concussion issues (apparently that's how Rock's character' career ends and addiction to painkillers) and the general high life in someways of the agent/players.

Looks a fun watch.

It was enjoyable. Funny at times and good characters.

It's got comedy, glitz and glamour, sex - enjoyed the first two episodes.

Not sure how realistic the depiction of NFL agents is and the bling lifestyle of the players or whether it's been slightly exaggerated but it adds to the whole show in a way. Not seen much of Rock's acting since the early days but he does a sound job as Strasmore.

Been seeing this advertised for a while. Tweaked my curiosity purely because The Rock is in it. I'll give it a shot, see what it's like.

How long does this series last? Already done four episodes!

It's fun watch, that's definitely true. Characters are all likeable (Vernon reminds me of Tommy Gunn from Rocky 5 for some reason) and Rock's handling the serious aspects of Strasmore nicely.

Bring on season two of Ballers! Really enjoyed this series, it's a good, easy, and fun watch. Rock is so smooth and it helps he's got a football background and Spencer seems to have Rock's personal coolness and calmness and his relationship with Joe is a good double act. All the secondary characters play their role nicely. I think they're shooting a second series soon.

Season 3 has started in the US on Sunday - it'll be on 10pm on Sky Atlantic on Thursdays for UK viewers.

I've enjoyed the two series - helps Rock is in it as a character as not sure I'd have invested that much time in it without him. Not sure how it's viewed critically but ratings wise seems to be hitting the mark.

It's similar to Entourage in terms of presentation and concept. However, the way they present the NFL and agents is kind of cool.
