It just might. So long as the film is set in the world of Fassbender's ancestor as it is in the game, none of this modern day Templar fuckery.

Doubt I'll see this unless it gets some fantastic reviews (I doubt it). Assassin's Creed doesn't really have much about it that would translate well to a movie.

Yeah I agree. Plus when was the last time a game-to-movie adaptation turned out well? Off the top of my head I can't think of any.

It's great casting, but I'm not too interested in the film. If they decided to drop the modern day wank altogether and stick to the period stuff, that would make me a lot more interested though.

Yeah, I think they should make the entire movie about the period and maybe at the end have him wake up in the Animus, roll credits. No explanation, no modern shit, solid nod to real fans, and the non-fans will be like "Eh?" and maybe get them discussing it/thinking.

I admit to actually liking the over the top cheesiness of the old Mortal Kombat movies. Call it a character weakness, but MK1 got watched more than once when I was a kid.

Mortal Kombat (not Annihilation) is considered the ONLY good video game movie by pretty much every one, bro. Great fucking soundtrack, too.

Your punishment is to go watch Super Mario Bros. all the way through without weed or liquor or a loaded gun.

I will watch this movie with some interest but with also some caution. I am a fan of the games but as it's already been stated, video game movies are generally not good. Granted the last few games in the series have not been as good as the first few but I still have very fond memories playing that game.

Mortal Kombat is a legit film. The first Silent Hill wasn't too bad either. Most of the Resident Evil ones are bollocks.

Assassin's Creed and Warcraft are the next two game movies coming out and they have big budgets. Assassin's Creed source material is dog shit while Warcraft has the involvement of the creators and a really enthusiastic director (Duncan Jones). It has the best shot at being the first real great video game movie.

I'll admit, my hopes are relatively positive for World of Warcraft. I love that game, though. I'd play it every day if it wasn't 15 bucks a month. It's not that I can't afford it, it's just the principal of the thing (for me) because I don't want to play new content, I want to play the same old content I've been playing for years (I love 1-80, Azeroth, Outland, and Northrend). They should let 1-80's play free. S'all I'm saying.
