Walking Dead anyone?

Postby ShaneOfan » Oct 08, '13, 12:24 pm

So "The Walking Dead" is back this Sunday anyone excited? Personally I will watch but the last two seasons have been a bit bland to me. I said on another unnamed forum, that I know it's supposed to be a show about people set in a zombie apocalypse, but I don't think the actors are good enough to pull it off. It's just a soap opera with guns. And I can't stand the worship of Daryl.

I'll watch it, I enjoyed the last season more than the others.

I quite enjoy it, but the whole human drama thing tends to give me the shits.

Hopefully with Andrea and Lori gone the next season will be a bit better.

I think the plodding nature lends itself to the show trying to be too faithful to the comics, which in and of themselves tend to progress slowly.

I'll be watching, but its not aired in the UK until the 17th I think, so I'll make sure to stay away to avoid spoilers.

I wasn't so keen on so many of the original group dying off, but I think the fact that no one in the group is safe just adds to the show.

At least Andrea is dead.

I'm sort of on my last leg with the show. Not sure whether I'll be giving it another chance or not... I thought season 3 was pretty brutal in parts, and the pace of the show is just so damn slow.

Eh, I don't really have any other shows going on right now, so we'll see.

Why is everyone I speak to so happy about Andrea dying? I was so shocked and couldn't believe it, I was actually a bit gutted!

Becuase all she did was whine and moan for the first two seasons, and then she refused to conform to the awesome that was Michone.

Add that to the fact that she's a complete badass in the comics and I was glad that she was put out of our misery.

Because she was whiny and useless. Comic Andrea was great, tv Andrea not so much. That and I couldn't stand the actress for her or Lori.

Yeah Im pretty pumped about it coming back. I love the comics, but its good to see that they have changed a few things (Andrea, the Governer for example). Will be good to see where they are planning to go next.

I stopped watching last season. To be fair, I never quite invested in the show the way most people seem to. I will say I don't understand the criticism The Walking Dead gets for being slow or plodding, whilst Mad Men is universally praised ... despite suffering from the same problem. Yes, one is a zombie show so perhaps you'd expect a greater deal of action, but plodding is plodding no matter which way you slice it.

I think the problem for me is everyone in Waking Dead is a sanctimonious prick. I don't care if they all get ravaged in one gruesome zombie buffet. The kid included.

I agree that the characters all sort of suck. But THAT is the difference between shows like "Walking Dead" or "Mad Men" or "Breaking Bad" the characters in "Walking Dead" are boring and the actors suck.

She was a shadow of the awesome character she is in the comics. She was to whiny and prissy and was like a love struck teenage girl banging the Governor. If she was as good as she was in the comics, I would have liked to see her stick around. But I doubt I will miss her much.

I still love this and I am really looking forward to the new season.

That was a really good opener. Hope they keep up with it, reminded me a lot of Season 1-Season 2. I hope this season is way better than Season 3. I almost had a heart attack when D'Angelo from the Wire was about to die. Glad his added on to the cast, his an AMAZING actor.

Should I start watching this? I have a mate that won't stop going on about it - I'm about to start watching Homeland unless any of you convince me otherwise.

I still haven't watched beyond the first few episodes because the main character's slutbag wife was doing his bestfriend less than a few weeks of his hospitalization. I just can't stand slutbags, I damn sure don't wanna see 'em on TV.
